Elementals: The Circle

CH8: Buying Clothes

Sedan was riding his horse, on the way to the mid-circle. He was going to buy a suit for Storm, they only had suits there because the rest wasn't rich and fancy enough to have them.

"President, President!" A man came running in, he was bruised and had some marks on his face. "I have a report of two rogue Elementals, they wiped out my entire squad, they are highly dangerous! They were reported in The Enclosed Fields." The president began shifting uncomfortably in his throne, it was the first time that he was in this sort of situation "We suspect them to be with a whole group "Alright, I'll deal with it." It's no use to start sending Rulebreakers. I'll start with making Elemental Disturbances in The Enclosed Fields. The Enclosed Fields are the area between The Districts and The Mid-Circle. Elemental Disturbances are the occurrences where every night an element would race through an area and kill everyone that was caught in it. Pillars started rising from the ground with vents in them all around the area.

Sedan went into a clothes shop in the Mid-Circle. It was a one-story building with stone walls each connected by wooden pillars accentuated by golden markings etched into the wood. At the front of the shop was a catalogue with dresses and suits, lit by oil lamps that were stuck to the walls. He opened the glass door, a ringing sound was heard. Sedan looked around, the white walls shining with the yellow hue of the oil lamps, golds accents stuck on the walls. A wooden floor, that has recently been shined. In the front of the shop were different catalogues, to the left you had the suits and accessories for male visitors, a neatly stacked rack of shoes, a wall of bowties. In the open space stood different kinds of suits, each with a lamp above them illuminating them. For females you had the same but on the opposite side of the men's clothing. At the backside of the shop was a white counter topped with a plate of gold, the reflections very clear on the surface.

Sedan didn't notice that a man popped up from behind the counter. The man had gray hair that was slick back, sitting atop of his big nose were half-moon reading glasses. The man was wearing a white shirt, with black pants and a black apron above it all. He had a golden wristwatch on his left wrist. "Ah, welcome traveler, are you here for a suit or perhaps a gown for a friend." The man said with a calm tone, clasping his hands together before him. "It is a suit for a friend, I have the measurements here." Sedan walked to the counter and handed over the note. "A black suit with a white shirt and black bowtie, correct?" he asked. Sedan nodded. "Alright give me an hour, and I'll see what I can do." Sedan bowed "Thank you for your time," he said politely before exiting the building.

He went to his horse and started scratching it's ears. "I heard rumors of rogue Elementals that have been spotted." Sedan turned he saw two Elementals discussing with each other, they started walking to an alley. "Ssh, that's classified information." The other one said. The first man punched the other one playfully "yeah but, look what they did to Marcus, they wiped out his entire squad." Sedan sneakily followed them until they went into the alley, Sedan stayed by the corner listening closely at the conversation.

"Don't worry, The President activated some safety measures, he's now putting Elemental Disturbances in the Enclosed Fields." Sedan jumped a bit at this statement, he cursed under his breath. "Ah nice to hear, man, they are not coming through here this easily." Sedan listened to the rest of the conversation, with no noticeable information spoken beyond that point. Sedan looked at his watch and noticed that he was already late to pick up the suit. He sneakily walked away from the alley and went back to the fancy store.

He opened the door again, the bell ringing through the shop, the man poked his head from under the counter. He smiled "You're back! Let me get your suit." He walked through a door to the right of the counter, and came back with a steaming suit "I've already cleaned it." The shiny black fabric glimmering in the light of the lamps. The white shirt behind the vest, smooth and clean. The bowtie sewn with care and precision. The shopkeeper gave the suit to Sedan with a slight smile. "That will be 350 Linx" Sedan dropped the shiny Linx in the hand of the shopkeeper. "Thank you for shopping with us, come back soon!" The shopkeeper said with a grin. Sedan waved back at the man and exited the shop, with the bell chiming through the shop. He walked back to his horse, and stuffed the suit neatly in one of packs of the horse. He climbed upon his steed, preparing for the long ride to base.

Sedan was two hours into his journey, when he saw a familiar structure before him, a long metal tower, vents made into the metal. These were the structures where Elemental Disturbances would come fromat night. The vents would open up the Elemental Disturbance coming out of it,the vents would close when sunrise begun. He cursed "I think he found out about us." He continued his journey, slightly picking up his pace, so that he would get home before sunset.

He was almost at the base, when the sun started setting. There was a metal tower near the base, Sedan passed the tower, the vents started opening fire spreading from them. Sedan started galloping, the fire spreading behind him. He hurried back, the fire chasing him down the landscape, letting his horse go at full force . He reached the base the fire a few minutes away from the abandoned town. He quickly put his horse in the stables, closing it.

He started running for the abandoned building, where the base was located. The fire reached the town, Sedan went into the building, the fire closely following him. He went to the wall, crumbling before him. He turned around, the fire was barreling for him. He closed his eyes and opened them again, the wall stood before him, no signs of fire anywhere. He hobbled down the stairs, sweat forming on his head, and saw everyone sitting around the table. "You know it too?" Sedan asked "what?" Waves asked Sedan took a seat "two rogue Elementals were spotted, so The President put up Elemental Disturbances". Waves put his arm around Ash's shoulders and said "And guess who those Elementals were" Ash and Waves both began chuckling.
