Dreaming

27 June, 2023: Terry is woken by thunder, he can't get back to sleep so he gets out of bed and walks to his window, he stares at the trees rustling in the wind. Terry thinks about last night, his neighbour Jocelyn had called the cops on him because she thought she had heard screaming coming from his house, "she must be crazy" he mumbles. Terry goes down stairs to get a glass of water, he grabs a glass and starts walking towards the sink when he trips on a bag he left on the floor, he makes a loud thump as he falls to the floor, his glass smashes and he looks to the right, he's horrified, he sees his cat on the floor with a large shard of glass sticking out her stomach, he quickly pulls the shard out of the cats stomach in an attempt to save her. She's dead. She has blood pouring out of the slit in her stomach, Terry can't look, he runs outside his front door and pukes onto the floor mat that reads "hugs and kisses", he screams... Terry opens his eyes, it was a dream. It's 6:56 AM on a Tuesday, He's got work today, he works at a museum. He's covered in sweat. He gets up to have a shower.
