Chapter 23 --The big break | assimilation ---

(Writers note: Hello readers. At this point I'm sure your noticing how long this book is getting. I worry about length because I want to tell a story that flows well and that you will all stand reading. However, WattPad allows me to simply make the book as long as I want, thus I just keep thinking of things and adding them in. If you don't mind the chapter upon chapters of reading, I will continue to post these chapters until I eventually bring the story to a close (Don't worry i do have an ending). After receiving a tour of the senate hall from Senator Riyo Chuchi, she now takes you down into a secret location in the lower levels of the city. Here there is less light among the alleyways and the streets are clean and spotless. You find yourself in a lower level nearby to the senate building, yet far from its grandeur.

After a short ride, your group of five walks down a specific alleyway where the droid awaits you. As you approach the droid goes further and Riyo steps farther forward, her guards trailing further back. You and Omega remain behind her as you round another corner and find a man in an elegant robe waiting by the droid.

"Senator Organa" Riyo greets him with a serious face but a pleasant smile.

"Senator Riyo Chuchi" He responds with a respectful nod, "I see you have new companions".

"For my safety" Riyo replies "They are additional escorts for the time being"

"I see" he replies, turning to face both of you "A pleasure to meet you ladies".

Both you and Omega nod, and Senator Organa turns back to Riyo, "Please, let us walk".

The entire group now walks casually down the street, Riyo and Organa at the front, with you and Omega behind, trialed by Riyos guards. As you walk you can hear radio loud speakers in the distance echoing out information: The galaxy is at peace, but our work is never done. A new military, composed of our own citizens, will usher in a new era of safety and security.-- Riyo begins to quietly explain what had happened in a whisper and Senator Organa listens patiently reminding you vaguely of your old master.

"As you know, I was searching for Slip. He was aiming to escape Coruscant but Admiral Rampart got to him first. He hired an assassin and he killed Slip before I could bring him to safety" Riyo explains "He likewise made an attempt on my life".

"An Assassin?" Senator Organa clarified in surprise, "It appears Rampart is resourceful in covering up his misdeeds".

"Which is why I intend to be equally resourceful," Riyo replied, with passion and determination in her voice. "Some associates of mine- Riyo glanced over her shoulder at you - are helping procure evidence of his attack on Kamino to present to the Senate".

"And you're confident they can accomplish this?" Senator Organa questioned, glancing back at you also.

"Very" Omega chimed in, causing both Senators to look back at her confident smirk.

"I won't leave such an important task to chance" Riyo continued "Other senators may have intel useful to my efforts".

"If you're intent on seeing this through, then there is someone you should speak with" Senator Organa replied thoughtfully "But her cooperation may not be forthcoming".

Your group slowed and came to a stop and Senator Organa continued "Halle Burtoni".

"Who's that?" Omega asked, curious about anyone that this senator may recommend.

Riyo looked concerned, or atleast saddened "She was the former senator for Kamino".

You understood Riyos reaction, speaking with this person on such a tense and emotional issue would be challenging.
