" really don't think this date is necessary" samaria said on group facetime with her best friends. " girl yes it is, it's been a minute since you've given a man the time of day" her friend pai said. " i don't even know what this man looks like though!" she exclaimed. " he's handsome i swear!" your other friend mia said. " who's handsome?" her boyfriend asked her. " oop y'all i gotta go, text me!" she said quickly before hanging up.
" he's good looking i promise! and he's cool, you'll have a good time. if not w-" " if not i expect a firehouse sub on my break everyday for the next week" samaria said pointing. " yes ma'am, now continue getting pretty i'll send you the location of the restaurant" pai said before blowing a kiss and hanging up. " if i get there and he looks like who did it and why, everyone is gonna hate me" she mumbled spraying on her perfume.
Samaria wasn't a man hater she just wasn't interested in indulging in anything this generations dating pool had to offer. men making podcast about what women should do and how to do it, they might as well be the girlfriends then. but she was a lover girl who had been surrounded by love her whole life so a teeny tiny part of her was hoping this date went well. she wanted a love like her mom and dad had & she kind of missed being boo'd up.
after giving herself a pep talk she finally gets out of her car making her way into the restaurant " oouuuu this is niceeee!" she said looking around. " hi my name is Samaria my friends set up a date here" she said approaching the hostess. " right this way! i'm kendall and i'll be your hostess for the night. are you excited?" she asked her as they walked to the back. " girl no, but i digress" she said. " well here's your table, he reserved for your food to be cooked in front of you" she said leaning in " girl he got moneyyyy" she said before tapping her temple making kelli laugh. " can i get you a drink while you wait?" " yes please,

" strawberry, mango pineapple, passionfruit, and lychee" " omg i want one of each please" she said excited.
Duke was a lil excited about this date even though he didn't know the girl. if he was gonna take a girl on a date, against his will or not, it would always be an amazing experience. his friends girlfriends set him up with their friend because in their words " duke you're always blocking!" & "is he my boyfriend or yours damn!". he was always with his guys but the girls weren't going for that anymore. he wouldn't say he was really looking to be in a relationship right now due to everything he had going on but he wasn't totally against having someone. and if that turned into something more then he'd definitely be up for it. plus Pai & Mia said she's fine as hell so he had to see what she was hitting for.
walking in to the restaurant he approaches the hostess " reservations for Duke, blind date" he said. the hostess looked up and grinned "yuppp that'll do it, right this way sir" kendall said. she knew after samaria saw this man it would definitely lift her mood. " here you are can i start you off with a drink?" " yea, lemonade is cool thank you" he said staring samaria down. Pai and mia were the truth and he set a mental note to thank them later.
he pulled a bouquet of white peonies and blush pink roses from behind his back. " hi beautiful, i'm Duke Dennis" he said handing her the bouquet and taking her other hand in his. " samaria is fine" she said before looking him up and down and right back up. god is good. " as hell" he responded with his bottom lip tucked between his teeth. " these are beautiful thank you" she said blushing at the fact that he got her flowers and they were her favorite.
" of course, women deserve the best" he said taking his seat. " really?" she asked raising a brow. " absolutely, it's a womans world, i'm just living in it" he said truthfully making full eye contact. " you have a pretty smile" samaria said. " you have pretty everything, miss fine" Duke said grinning making her blush.
after getting to know eachother better the chef began to prepare their meals and he realized hers consisted of no meat. " you vegetarian?" He asked. " nope, vegan" Samaria said as she nodded. " you eat meat?" She asked wiping his bottom lip once again looking her in her eyes, she knew exactly what she was doing & he wanted to say" off the bone" but he figured she might actually be curious so instead he said " absolutely" with a smirk on his face. " good to know, good to know" she said leaning back in her seat chuckling.
when their food arrived Samaria has been trying to get duke to try her vegan pasta. " yeahhh, no thanks " he said leaning back as she put his fork out for her. " come on, just vibe, you are not just vibing right now" she said. He opened his mouth and she fed him the pasta. " why is it actually good, you might be on to some shit now. No cap" he said. " i tried to tell you!, you got a lil something-" she said before taking her thumb and wiping the sauce off of his bottom lip before sucking it off her finger. " you got me?" she asked smiling. " i got you" he said smirking. " you're dangerous" Samaria said laughing at him.
after dinner, they walked hand in hand on the side walk, duke on the outside of course, to get to her car. " i told you how good you look tonight?" he asked spinning her. " yes but it doesn't hurt to hear it again" she said grinning. " you're the finest thing walking tonight, tomorrow and any day after that" he said making her hide her red face behind her flowers. " can you just take my pictures please" she said giggling. as duke took her pictures she realized this was definitely her type of guy. he walked over and moved a stray hair out of her face before walking back to continue taking her pictures. " can i get smile gorgeous" he said which obviously caused her to smile. her cheeks were definitely hurting after smiling from ear to ear all night. she turned around for a back picture "GYATT" duke yelled making her laugh before taking her phone.
"i expect to see more of you after tonight but since i'm a gentleman i'll definitely ask. may i see you soon for date number 2" Duke said opening her door for her. " absolutely" she said kissing his cheek before getting inside the car.
