*** Taylor had given a lifetime of fun in Hawaii, you were both just returning from your well deserved long two weeks in Kauai, Hawaii vacation and you wanted to do something nice for her.
You kept the thought to yourself became you know she would go against that, saying it was a birthday gift and you didn't have to do anything for her just for that. The truth was, you know she would have been right, but you went your own way and put the plan into thinking of what you could do for her. After a while of thinking, the idea had hit you when going with her to get Meredith her shots. Cats were up for adoption and the both of you were looking while waiting throughout the appointment.
Taylor mentioned one of the kittens in the glass case that she found cute to you, and looking at her, you couldn't help but agree that she was in fact, adorable.
They had soon called you and Taylor back to pick up Meredith, but you insisted on staying behind to look at the rest since you haven't seen all of them yet like she had, Taylor agreed not thinking much of it. You stalled walking by each glass case slowly while eyeing them intently, as if inspecting detail. Just before Taylor comes back with Meredith, the lady at the adoption center noticed you studying one, walks over to you and asked if you were interesting in holding her. You agreed, but asked if you could hold the same cat Taylor seemed to have wanted to bring home as a new playmate for Meredith.
Right as they placed the kitten in your arms, Taylor walks in holding Meredith, smiling once seeing you holding the kitten. When she gets close enough, you both couldn't help but laugh as Meredith sniffs and sticks her paw out towards the kitten before Taylor pets the kitten herself. After petting the kitten, Taylor tells you she was going out to the car and would wait for you out there, mentioning to you that there was no rush and to take your time. You agreed and after making sure your girlfriend was out of sight, you started filling out the adoptions form. Which didn't take you too long to fill out, and after the final signing, along with payments, you were free to walk out with Taylor's new kitten. Twenty minutes was all it took and when you had the car in view, you noticed Taylor was busy talking on the phone to her mother to notice you walking towards the car.
Once inside, Taylor doesn't notice the special guest until after ending the phone call, before looking over to you. Her mouth fell slightly open once she saw the kitten you had just newly adopted.
"(Y/n)? What's going on? What do you have the kitten out here for?"
"Because I had just adopted her to our little family. I got her for you, as a gift."
"It's not that I don't appreciate this, but I thought we agreed no more gifts?" Taylor says, reaching for the kitten.
"We did, but than we went to Hawaii." you say, now holding Meredith.
Taylor didn't say anything to that, more so, she played with the new addition to the family. You both discussed names on the way home any by the time you both got home, it was decided that from now on, the kitten will be called "Willow" as it was a name you both adored.
Right after arriving home, the rest of the day was spent allowing Willow and Meredith get to know each other, letting them play together as the two of you joined in on the fun. Not only did you spend the day playing with Willow and Meredith, but you invited friends and family over to meet Willow and she was easily loved just as Meredith was the first day she was brought home.
