My body hitches at the pain, just felt like a bunch of needles stabbing me. Like if I was laying on a bed of nails or just hot wires. I forced my eyes to open, but a bright light made my vision blurry. It took a moment for my vision to adjust to the lighting as I found myself in a hospital like place. Shifting my body around, it just worsened the pain I was already feeling. Gripping the sheets of this hospital bed as I grunt out. Not even a scream or something as my voice box was so bruised due to the chain collar that was always around my throat. Tears formed in the corner of my eyes as I cried out, more like groaning out my pain.

This seemed to catch the attraction of the medics as they rushed in. Each carefully pushing my body back down to the bed. I couldn't really understand what they were saying. But one careful person injected me with something, a liquid that quickly made my body feel so numb. I panted out, but my throat was so sore it felt like hell just trying to breathe. One of the male nurses came close to me, just patting down the blanket back to cover me.

"Please, this shot is like taking painkillers pills. But the liquid helps get rid of the pain much faster and better." He spoke so quietly, more like he was afraid to even raise his voice at me. I slowly brought myself into a clammer state just with the oxygen mask that helped me breathe better. But still the pain of my throat slowly went numb it still had the sore feeling all around. I looked over at the male nurse, he had his hair being grown out from a buzzcut haircut. It's blonde hair bounding off of the navy medic clothes he wore. He gave a small smile before straightening up his posture. I just had my eyes follow his moments as he just tucked the blanket on my sides. It was a little chilly here, I think every hospital is pretty cold. Well from what I can remember, the human trafficking life changed me mostly in my memories.

"You are being cared for here at KorTac Base in England. No worries, you are under the protection of KorTac." He spoke gently, along with his hands gesturing in a thumbs up to me. I move my eyes around the room, it is just being different from a normal hospital but with this male nurse answering my questions. I must be in the KorTac hospital area, in the section for surgeries. I groaned as I just sigh, I honestly thought I was dead after being shot. What I could remember was taking a bullet for a soldier. He had his face covered with some type of cloth. At the moment, I wasn't thinking more because I honestly wanted them to kill me. Just thinking that at the moment due to how close death was. Bunch of soldiers pointing their weapons to Mark as I was his meat shield. I thought they would just shoot through me, and how Mark had his pistol right at my shull. I felt like death was just there in a corner eating his popcorn. Watching my fate come to an end as there were many possibilities of my death at that time.

"Hey, you should rest up. I think it would help you heal faster." The male nurse took me out of my thoughts of death. I eyed him, just mugging his face. He let out a chuckle before placing a remote in my hands.

"Just press the button and it will signal me when you need me. I'll come whenever you want, even for company. Oh. I'm Aiden, a medic." He gave me a wink before backing a few steps away from me. I gave him a single groan to let him know I understood. Aiden smiled once more before waving at me goodbye. He exited the room, closing the door slowly to not make much noise. I didn't really have much to say or think, just blank. Once again in a bright white room with the beeping of the heart monitor going off. The sound of my oxygen mask taking in the exhale of carbon dioxide. I guess I made my first normal friend.

About two weeks went by, I slept through most of it. And when I wasn't taking a long slumber of sleep, Aiden mostly sat in the room with me. Never once did I press the remote button for his assistant. He came on his own, I did fear that he wished to harm me. The human trafficking mindset, I could only think sex, rape, and torture. But he never once laid a finger on me. Only when he took my blood pressure, overall kept his distance. He would talk about everything, from how he took the job for being a medic for this organization to his favorite noodle soup. Never once has he asked me anything personal, plus I couldn't even speak even in these two weeks of healing. My throat is still sore but a little better that I could properly eat whole solid foods.
