3.00 am - Rome
I am so jet-lagged. I can't sleep at all.
After Anna left the room, I had a quick shower and immediately got into my new bed.
The alarm clock on my bedside table said that it was two in the morning, and I have been tossing and turning ever since.
I never knew that having jet lag could be this hard. A lot of the time, I thought it was a myth and that it shouldn't be that hard to get over. But now I know that I thought wrong.
This is insanity. I can't believe people have to go through this weekly because of their jobs.
After a few more minutes of tossing and turning, I give up.
I throw my legs over the mattress and my toes meet with the cool tiles as I stand up.
I am wearing a white silky nightgown that Anna had laid out for me. It was exactly my size. So perfectly clad on my body that it almost felt like it was perfectly tailored for me.
I open one of my large French windows and feel the cold breeze fly through my hair.
The breeze has a fresh smell. Almost as if there wasn't any type of pollution contained in it.
After staring at the garden for a while, I leave my windows open, letting the cold air dominate my new bedroom.
I leave my bedroom, the wooden door leaving a creaking sound behind me and decide to explore the new place I was supposedly staying at.
I walk through the hallway and admire the beautiful wallpaper stuck to the walls. It made the place look expensive but with a peck of vintage.
My bare feet felt the cold tiles of the floor and I looked down to see that they weren't tiles, but wood.
I pinch my eyebrows together, a wooden floor? I thought they only did that in the 18th century.
I didn't have much time to question it because the big chandelier in the middle of the hall quickly grabbed my attention instead.
My eyes widened, twisting my neck as much as I could to be able to look up.
I continued walking until I arrived back at the entrance. I walked down the stairs and appreciated the huge income hall that this mansion had set in place.
I was about to walk closer to it but quickly halted, dead in my tracks.
