The Perfect Shinobi (Part 1)

Progression.

Naruto was about to arrive at his apartment after a day full of training. He was very tired. Today he trained with his team, then he trained with Kakashi, then as soon as he went to go rest for a little bit Shisui came by to work on his advanced body flicker, but it didn't stop there. Itachi decided Naruto's skills were advanced enough to have spars with him and Yugao. So, Naruto spared with Itachi for the next hour or two. Overall Naruto had a long day today so when he walked into his apartment all he wanted to do was lay down and sleep.

The last thing he thought or wanted to see in his apartment was a fox the size of his couch playing with Daisuke.

Naruto looked at the large white fox in his living room. Daisuke was currently at its feet jumping around. Naruto stopped in his doorway with a blank look. "Why is there a giant white fox in my apartment?" Naruto thinks.

Daisuke turned and saw Naruto standing there. The small fox quickly crossed the apartment and jumped towards Naruto's chest. Naruto may have been shocked, but he still had the muscle memory to catch Daisuke. He held the fox against his chest, never breaking eye contact with the bigger fox.

Naruto stared blankly at the fox who seemed to be smirking at him. "You must be Naruto Uzumaki. I've heard a lot about you." A regal voice said. It took Naruto a few seconds to realize the fox was the one who spoke.

Naruto blinked in confusion. His brain slowly started functioning again. Then his thoughts started racing. If there was a fox talking to him then the fox must be a summon. Why would a summon be in his house? Unless Daisuke was also a summon, but if Daisuke was a summon then why didn't he talk? Maybe he was too young? He has shown a lot of intelligence, maybe his vocal cords were just too undeveloped, but if he was a summon then why was he staying with Naruto? Summons were supposed to only come when called upon.

A voice interrupted Naruto's analysis "I see your confusion, and I have the answers you need. First off, my name is Kaito, and I am the head of the fox clan."

"So, you are a summons." Naruto confirms. "How did you get here? Is Daisuke really a fox summons? Naruto questioned.

Kaito's smirk grows in size. "I like you. You are very clever, like a fox should be. Yes, Daisuke is a member of the fox clan. He wandered to your world a few months ago. I have been looking for him ever since, but this little one is good at hiding." Kaito said with a slight smirk.

"I didn't know foxes could smirk." Naruto thinks.

"When I found this little one, I was surprised to hear that he took to a human. He doesn't want to come back to his home realm. He would rather stay with you. That tells me a lot about you, young Uzumaki." Daisuke jumps down from Naruto's arms. He then walks over to Kaito. Daisuke climbs on Kaito until he reaches his head. Daisuke then falls and hangs from the older fox's neck. Kaito ignores the baby fox and continues. "Fox kits usually don't trust people easily. Yet he says he trusted you in mere minutes. You have earned my respect for that, young Uzumaki. I can see in your eyes that you are intelligent, and very mature for your age. I will trust this young one's judgement, and I will give you the fox contract." Kaito moves his head knocking Daisuke off in the process. Daisuke fell to the floor with a plop. Kaito turned his body and grabbed a scroll from behind him with his mouth. He then dropped the scroll causing it to unroll slightly. "To partner with the fox clan you will need to sign this contract with your blood. Next to your name you will place a handprint also made from your blood." Naruto nodded and did what was instructed.

"Now do you have any questions?" Kaito asks as he watches Naruto clean the blood off his hand.

"Why can't Daisuke talk yet? I see that he is highly intelligent, and he obviously talked to you so why can't he talk yet?" Naruto asks.
