Kamila's POV
After walking for around 7 minutes I'm lost in my thought until I feel Marco shake me.
"We're here prima, you think you ready for this?"
I look at him with a smug grin and playfully elbow his stomach. In response, he acts as if it hurt and like he's falling, I can't help but laugh.
"Boy please, I've been ready since the day I was born" I reply in a mocking tone.
As we step inside I feel my jaw drop as I see the gym's interior. There are people sparring in the middle on a big red mat. Next to the mat, all kinds of punching bags are hung from the ceiling like chandeliers. I feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me as I look at who I assume is an instructor helping a kid around my age perfect his sprawl.
I remember how long it took me to get it down pat but my coach never gave up on me.
I hear Caleb speak up," My cousin is the manager and he's friends with the owner, we could probably get you a free membership if you are going to put it to good use princesa"
The nickname immediately reminds me of Valentino, I hate how he invades my thoughts every couple of seconds. Instead of giving back a snarky response I simply say, " Don't worry ill put it to good use."
We approach a desk and behind it sits a man, who looks like he's in his mid 20's, covered in tattoos, black shaggy hair, and brown eyes.
As his gaze sweeps over us, his eyes stop at me. After a few seconds, he looks away and at Caleb.
"Hey primo, how's it going" the man whose name I'm yet to find out exclaims, "y de quien es la chica? Hasta muy bonita para un lugar asi" translation: "And who's girl is that she's too pretty for a place like this"
immediately offended by the comment I step forward and stand my ground
"La chica tiene nombre y no te creas, yo se exacatamente lo que estoy asiendo, siempre eres asi de sexista? No se refleja bien en la compañia amigo, asi que con cuidado" I finish as i feel my fists clench and shake at my sides. translation "That girl? has a name, and don't think I'm clueless, I know exactly what I'm doing, are you always this sexist? It doesn't look good on the company buddy so if I were you, I'd be careful"
He stares at me in shock and I walk back to my spot next to Marcos who looks like he's trying to hold in the biggest laugh he's ever had to let out in his life. Caleb and Jhonny are both as starstruck as Caleb's cousin and I feel all eyes on me. I roll my eyes and close Caleb's slightly open mouth with a slight chuckle.
"Well, primo..." Caleb starts hesitantly, "This is Kamila, she's Marco's cousin, and we were wondering if we could get her a membership here."
As if Caleb had said the funniest joke in human history, the man behind the counter starts laughing hysterically. "SHE? Wants to train here?" he stops for a minute as if to catch his breath.
"Does she even know what this is? I'm sorry no offense but how much experience could this girl really have?"
Still standing there annoyed, I felt Marco put his hand on my shoulder. Before he could speak up, once again I did. "Well, if I have no experience and I clearly have no idea what I'm doing why don't we have a little sparring match? I win I get a free membership for as long as I want to, to both the gym and martial arts training, if I lose, I leave and find another place to take my business."
After I finished he cocked an eyebrow at me as if I was joking
"Do we have ourselves a deal?" I said sticking my hand out for a handshake.
