Ths trouble with friendship

Prologue 2 - Happy 'Horror' day

It was 17th September 1979, and it was the day every legend in Neffrelessia hated.

Checking day.

On this day, every legend who has been caught by the humans had to be checked for their power capacity. The thing about legends is that if they don't have power or strength in their blood, they would die.

The humans got tired of the legends showing off their power and got greedy. They wanted the power to themselves. Those humans turned into the cara-sapiens or the 'dark humans'.

Soon the shento neffre was filled with these cara-sapiens. They captured all the legends and extracted their blood to inject it in theirs.

One particular legend, Gwendolyn, escaped from the testing area. She thought it was unfair that the heroes were not getting captured as they had the same power in their veins. She didn't have her parents with her (her mama died😰😰) but she had her step mother who loved her and begged the government to let Gwen stay with her.

For years she couldn't see her, and because of that, she sadly took her own life by poisoning.

Gwen had nowhere to go, so she shapeshifted into a normal city girl and tried to find a home.

She first went to the gatre or mall to search for places to sleep for the night. She found one place at the joto calo hamre or the hot dog shop. There a shento gom citizen and the joto calo hamreca(worker) saw her sleeping and kept a free hot dog for her to eat in the morning.

As she woke up the worker saw her and wanted to adopt her. Her name was Graci and she was secretly a legend too. She could tell that Gwen was a legend because legends give an aura which only other legends can feel.

"What is your name?" She asked as she gave the joto calo.

"Gwen." She replied.

"Would you like to stay at my house?" She asked.

"Yeah." She said.

There was a short silence which was then broken by Gwen's whisper.

"Are you a legend too?"

"Yes." She whispered back.

Then, both of them went to the house. The house was big enough to fit atleast 3 people. The worker lived with her brother who was also a legend.

"Where's the bathroom?" Gwen asked.

"There." Graci replied showing the door to the bathroom.

"Thank you." She said as she went into the bathroom. She looked into the mirror and saw the bruises from the testing zone and the hard challenges they gave. Then she remembered.

Yesterday was testing day. She was sure to get caught along with the sweet lady. She couldn't do that to her. She couldn't do that to her brother either. She just couldn't.

She told Graci about her situation and she assured her that nothing would go wrong.

It was then, that gwendolyn's journey to become a part of the oboda began.
