Chapter -2

"He said he likes ice skating " I said to Leah.  We have been roaming around the palace gardens this whole morning with her begging me to give her every single detail of my meet with the Prince. "Wow that's so unique . You are so lucky to marry him . " she started . "I wish my groom has talents like those. Ok anyway back to topic . Is he  cute ?" She asked with that usual grin on her face . "You would like to know wouldn't you" I smile . "Well, he's alright ,nothing special".

"Is he tall?" .
"Yeah"
"Is he thin?"
"Sort of"
"What colour is his hair"
"Black"
"What shape is his ear?"

"Can you stop with these stupid questions ? What shape is his ear ? Seriously ?  How am i supposed to describe his ear ? I reply , trying to sound annoyed though it was quite funny

"Alright alright ,enough about his appearance . What's he like ? His personality ?" She asked , more interested than ever.

"He's funny . Relatable I guess . Definitely not like the other Princes that I  attend balls with . Those people are so well-spoken and proper . I could never in a hundred years be like them . They speak in words that even the dictionary hasn't heard of . He is more easy going .He's simple . More like a gentlema-"

"Look at You. Going on and on about a man u just met . U are so in love Prin-cess-Scarlett." She interrupted me , giggling.

"Ha Ha Ha" I reply sarcastically.  "Oh and by the way , his horse ,Matt ,is  so adorable . He came to me so quickly . He is like the polar opposite of Bella". I said excitedly

"Sure but you better not let Bella hear that . She is gonna hate you for life" Leah laughed.

One of dad's soldiers had found Bella in an old abandoned stable . She was so weak and young back then and so he bought her to the palace . I was little then and when I saw her , I  instantly fell in love . So after a lot of begging and crying , dad finally let me keep her . From that day , I fed and took care of her . She was afraid at first but soon enough bonded with me. And then ,we were inseparable! She doesn't like anyone else and I'm totally fine with that . I love her and she loves me . Perfect balance.

"When are you meeting the Prince again ?" She asked curiously . "Umm , I don't know . He does live quite far away . It takes around 2 hours on the horse to get here from his Palace in Reilmore. But he did tell me that we have to meet atleast once more before the wedding".

"Which means you will have to meet him this weekend?" She asked
"Yes. I can't believe it . I'm going to be married in less than two weeks . I'll be gone from here , from this palace , from my childhood, from my parents , from you ". I said , sadness in my voice as the seriousness of everything slowly started to sink in.

"Wait...... let me ask you something.
Are you ok with doing this?"

Those words left me blank . Not a single person had asked me about my opinion on this. On spending my whole life with someone my parents chose for me. Was I okay with doing this ?

"You get one life Scarlett . Keep it or weep it. Just because we are born as girls into this society doesn't mean we have to follow all its beliefs.  You being a princess makes it even harder for you to choose your own path. But...... if you do ... i'll come with you on that adventure. Its not like I've got anyone else here". She said , seriousness in her voice , that I had never heard of.

"And what if I want to take my own path? What if  I want live the way I want to , breaking all the royal rules ever set for me to follow . What if I don't want this marriage ? What if I want to stay independent all my life? Then what do I do? "

"Wait, really ?" She asked , nervous, as though she didn't expect that as my reply . "Well ,then we could run away I guess, and uhh make a little house and live in a far off forest.... No wait. I wanna marry so that's not an option . Then uhh-"

"I'm was joking!!!" I say laughing ."I can't believe you thought of all this "

"Oh my God Scarlett .I hate you so much i could kill you right now . But that would be treason i guess" . She said , clearly relieved.

"I think I should marry him . He is nice . And I'm ready for a new beginning. Ready for a chapter of my life thats yet to unfold . It will be hard for me at first I think . Just like it was for Bella when she first arrived . But soon enough ill adapt and maybe even find my life to be even more interesting then".

"That's not possible" she said sounding severe

"What? .... why? " I asked genuinely confused.

"Cause i'll not be there with you . And there sure is nobody that can replace me " We both laughed.
