Chapter 41: Loud Loud

"Your company failed to protect my partner, Jackson!" Hades barked over the phone while pacing back and forth in the living room. Julien and I, were both looking at him as the movie was now on pause and Hades was right in front of the TV. I opened a packet of Cheetos, making Hades turned his attention to me. Within a few strides, he was standing in front of me, snatching my Cheetos away. I gasped at this and he pulled the phone away from his ear.

"How many had she had of these since this morning?" Hades asked Julien. I glared at him, before throwing my head back in exasperation.

"That was the third packet" Julien said truthfully then shot me a grin.

"And you complain about stomach burn at night, Luna" Hades snapped before walking away again, his phone clutched back to his ears.

"And now he's all fucking grumpy!" I groaned in annoyance before turning to glare at my best friend, who was stuffing his mouth with an appealing marshmallow. "Thank you for snitching, dumbass" I muttered, throwing a cushion on his face.

"I didn't snitch. I said the truth" Julien retorted while chewing his food loudly. I clenched my jaws, closed my eyes and groaned.

"I think you need to go home" I snapped, as he chewed louder. Julien knew how to get on my nerve and he was enjoying it.

"Since when you do think?" He snorted in amusement.

"That's it. I'm going to kill you" I grumbled as I stood up. I walked to him, determined to make him suffer as he started chewing even louder.

I hated that!

"Oh my God! I'm so scared!" Julien chuckled tauntingly. He was toying with my patience. I picked up a cushion and stuffed it on his face. Pressing hard enough to make him struggle but soft enough to let him breathe.

That fucker was laughing his ass off.

Julien didn't fight me off though. Usually, he would be throwing me around like a bag of sand That was one perk of being pregnant. I couldn't help the giggles that escaped my lips when Julien pretended to suffocate.

"Do I even want to know?" Hades asked, making me turn around to look at him. He was loosening his tie while he stared at me. Julien was chuckling still as he pushed my pillow away.

"He was chewing with his mouth open!" I exclaimed in defence. "And he was loud!" I added. I was quite breathless after all these effort and hard work to kill Julien. Hades motioned me to come to him with a simple head motion. I quickly complied as I tiptoe ran to him. As soon as I was arm reach, he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer to him. A sigh escaped his lips as he gave a kiss on the side of my head. My heart just melted. I wrapped my arms around him and squeezed gently, appreciating the warmth of his body. I lifted my head slightly and gently peck his neck.

"Was he loud loud?" Hades asked with a grin. I pulled away and nodded.

"So loud that I was going to kill him" I admitted playfully. Julien rolled his eyes.

"You could have tried. I'm way too strong for you" He teased.

"We could bury him in the backyard" Hades said suddenly.

Ha! Ha!

"No one would suspect us" I added with a grin. Hades' eyes locked in mine. "I would pretend to be sad" I added.

"I could easily take him out. Knife or Gun?" Hades asked. The amusement was glimmering in his eyes.

"Knife. He deserves a painful death. My ears have suffered enough" I said, faking sadness. We both turned to look at Julien who was now glaring at us.

"I'm going home! You are always teaming up against me" Julien pouted like a kid. "I thought it was bros before hoes!" He then shouted at Hades in utter betrayal. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I think he just called you a hoe" Hades said. I playfully glared at my best friend who rose his head in surrender as he stood up.

"You're just a fucking hoe and I love it" Julien sang awkwardly and I couldn't help but burst in a fit of laughter.

This is how I was imagining my pregnancy to be like.

"But seriously, I have to go home now" Julien said as he pulled his phone out to look at the time.

Let's ignore the Rolex that he was wearing.

"What's happening with that piece of sh-" Julien started.

"Piece of rock!" I quickly interrupted. "What's going to happen now?" I asked. Hades shrugged then inhaled deeply.

"The police officers will be doing patrols around here each two hours. More guards will be around the house and from now on, I will be working from here itself until this whole issue is resolved" Hades said.

"You will be home?" I asked to clarify this point.

"This is a death threat, Luna. And I am not letting you out of my sight" Hades told me firmly. I simply nodded as I was glad that he was going to be home most of the days.

Wait.

Fucking wait.

"What's the point of being at home if I won't be home?" I questioned, crossing my arms as I was already sensing what was coming and I was not going to like it. "I mean, do you know that I have to go to work, yeah?" I asked, fearing that I was going to lose all this independence again. Hades ran his hand in his hair then shot me a pleading look.

"Try to move work here as well. Work from home. I will have a room set up for you" Hades said, trying to find instant solution to this new problem that he seem to have to face now. I sighed in defeat. I couldn't make this harder for him.

This was a death threat, unfortunately.

"I will try to arrange something with my mother. And I was everything in my office in nude colour" I said. "Wooden furniture and plants too" I added pensively, already imagining my home office.

A sight of relief appeared on Hades' face. He bent his face gently to give me a small kiss. "I will take that as my cue to leave" Julien mumbled awkwardly.

"I thought you already left, Julien" Hades said monotonously, making me chuckle.
