After World War One Germany's dictator,arrived at Germany and declared war. The first counties that got involved was France and Great Britain.The war began from 1939 September 1st to September 2nd 1945. This happened when world war one defeated Germany. The counties with the most deaths was Russia and Germany. Not only those three countries were fighting, more countries got involved: Italy, U.S.A, America, Japan, Russia, China and many more.
Blitz
Blitz is a German word for lightning war. The Blitz mostly took place at London and Berlin. The Blitz happened at night were planes throw bombs at the city. It happened at night because the planes can not be seen and so the city that got bombed turned of every light so the bombers couldn't see where to throw. This is called the Blackout. The Blitz took 8 months and five days but also including another fifty-seven days. The citizens hear the air raid so they know to go to their Anderson shelters (in the garden) or the underground train station.
