Chapter 18 - Amaryllis

One Month Later...

Work has been crazy and it was not as simple as what Ada said. It was hard to focus on the renovations and work at the same time but I'm happy that Liam is helping me. He's been amazing and accommodating ever since I moved in with him temporarily. He has changed he's more mature than before and it feels amazing. I haven't seen Valerie or Mia and I think I need to just make sure that we can co-exist considering she's still friends with Liam.

I took my phone and called Mia. She answered on the fourth ring. "Amy?", she said nervously. "Hi, Mia. How have you been?", I asked and she released a breath. "Good. I can't believe you called. It's a surprise", she said and she had every right to say so. I did ghost her. "Yeah. I'm sorry about that I just wanted to uh... invite you and Val for drinks... without Liam, if that's okay", I said and it was my turn to feel nervous.

"Yeah of course. Are you free tonight? We were going to Joe's", she said being her bubbly self again. "Yes... tonight is great", I agreed then we confirmed the timing and I hung up. I texted Liam telling him I was going out for drinks and he agreed telling me he had a late serving as well.

"Are you ok to do this alone? I feel like one of us should come with you", Briana said making me smile. "It's fine. I want to get this over with. I have been dragging it for ages and I might as well do it already", I said then walked out of my office ready to conquer my fears.

The place was packed as usual and I was trying to find a place to sit when I heard Mia call me. They already had drinks on the table meaning I was late. "Sorry. The traffic was insane", I said then sat. I ordered my drink and then turned to Valerie.

"I'm sorry", she said surprising me. "What?", Mia and I said at the same time. "Well, I feel like this is my fault. I should have drawn a line and pushed him away and I didn't until it was too late and I'm sorry for that. He loves you, Amy, you mean the world to him, and seeing him so broken when you left was heartbreaking and I know it's my fault. I'm a married woman and even though Zain has no problem with me having male friends, I should know my boundaries", she rambled and all I could do was listen. 

"Well, I'm sorry too. When I came into the picture, I found you guys already friends and I needed to respect that. I was demanding a lot too fast and it's not how it should be. I'm sorry for ditching you guys as well. You were nothing but nice to me and I let jealousy get the best of me. I'm sorry", I said looking at Mia who had a smile on her face. She pulled me in a hug and like a switch it was all smiles and laughter. 

Valerie showed me the pictures of her babies and even invited me to their birthday party. I was at ease. The way she spoke about Zain and her children was so admirable. I wanted that too. My phone started ringing and when I looked it was Liam. "Hello?", "When are you coming home? It's past 2 am", he said sounding worried. "I just finished, I'll be there in a few minutes", I said then hung up. "Liam?", Mia asked sounding tipsy. "Yes, I have to go. It was nice hanging out with you guys. Thank you", I said and kissed their cheeks then left.

When I reached the apartment I found Liam waiting for me. He looked pissed. "I called Briana and Jeff and both were at the comfort of their homes. Who were you out with?", he asked in a tone that I did not like. I have never seen him this tense. It was freaking me out a little and also turning me on. I know, even I'm confused. I think it's the alcohol. 

"First, can you work on your tone? And second I didn't say I was going out with Briana or Jeff", I said making him bite his lip. It was very distracting. I looked at him from head to toe. He was shirtless, his abs were so on point, the tattoos on his forearms and the one on his neck. "Are you even listening?", he asked looking furious. "Anhaa", I said then started removing my clothes. 

"No, no, Amy we're gonna talk first", he said with his hand stretched, warning me not to walk closer. I took it as a challenge. When I was completely naked, I walked closer until his hand was on my boob. "You look so sexy right now", i said seductively and he rolled his eyes at me. "Great, you're drunk", he said turning his back to me. I pulled him by the hand and pushed him on the couch. I straddled him and started sucking his neck. He moaned. I smiled and then sucked his earlobe. He pulled back then pushed his sweatpants down pulling his member out. I sat on it and moaned as he sucked my nipples with his hands securing my back. I started bouncing on him and all I heard was him cursing over and over until we both reached our high. My eyes were heavy so I slept on his shoulder with him still inside of me.

"Yeah, I'm running a little late today. My better half decided to go out without me yesterday so you can imagine how pissed I am... ok see you in a bit", Liam said then hung up and placed the phone on the bedside table. "I was with Mia and Valerie", I said with a sore throat. "What?", he turned to look at me as I ran my hand from the back of his neck to his waist. 

"I said, I was hanging out with Mia and Valerie. I figured it was good to clear the air without you. We're good now", I said moving in a sitting position. "You could have told me instead of raping me", he said with a smirk. "I wasn't the one who pushed their sweatpants down", I teased while running my finger through his neck tattoo. I can't believe I'm part of his body. This man is crazy. 

He closed his eyes and then moaned. His phone rang and he answered without opening his eyes. "Hey Tate... no I'm not moaning, I'm stretching", he said then swallowed hard. "Hi Tate", i said making him open his eyes and put him on speaker. "Hello, gorgeous. I'm hosting the family dinner tomorrow so be on time and with your girl", he said making me smile. "Yes sir", Liam answered then hung up. "Fuck, I gotta get to work. See you later?", he asked while getting up. He started getting dressed. "Are you sure you don't have time for a quickie?", I teased making him laugh.
