ZAYA

Last night had been a mass of confusion to me. Zaiden and Kai with their intense argument and then Zack gray approaching my window out of nowhere.

What he said had repeated in my head the whole night when he left my bedroom.

It's dangerous?

I bit my thumb nail as I sat on the kitchen stool, nibbling on my toasted waffle.

Zaiden sat on the opposite side of me, staring up at me with his puppy eyes. I knew he felt bad about last night, but knowing him he would want me to talk to him first. Classic Zaiden.

I rolled my eyes at his pitiful act and got up to leave for school.

"Zaya wai-" I didn't let him finish as I slammed the front door behind me in anger.

I was planning to give him the silent treatment for at least a week then blackmail him into buying me my favourite snacks as an apology.

I was out of breath by the time I got to school. What was I think walking for miles there?! I should have taken the bus, I heaved.

I glanced up and saw none other than X3 in the school parking lot.

I watched in awe of their collection of cars. Damn, I thought.

Zack glanced back at me as I stood there, gazing at their vehicles.

He jumped down from his car and strode towards me, both his friends watching him in confusion.

"Hey Zack where are you off to-"

Kai stopped mid sentence, tilted his head and glared back at me with his icy grey eyes. Guess he's still mad at me for what happened last night.

Without thinking, I turned my heel and hurried off the opposite way towards the school entrance.

"Hey wait up." Zack called as he fast-walked towards me and I slowed my pace so he could catch up with me.

"Hey." He gazed down at me with his crooked smile, rubbing the back of his neck in unease. You could tell he was anxious after what he said last night.

"Hey yourself." I smiled in comfort, not wanting the tension between us to get any more awkward.

"Soo, about last night I-"

"Hey it's all good, I know you don't want me to pry any further." I interrupted and he gazed down at me with a crooked smile.

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"You know, not making it a big deal of me climbing through your window." He replied nochalantly.

"No problem." I chuckled as I opened my locker and retrieved my books.

"Hey so I was wondering, if you're free tonight, there is something I want to show you." His shoulder lay against the lockers as he fidldled with his hands.

"Um, sure why not." I replied. At this point I would do anything to understand these uncovered secrets they all hide. Even if it means getting closer to them.

"Great i'll text you the address, I'll see you then." He grinned and walked off to his two other friends as they glared at Zack in annoyance.

I glanced at Kai for a sheer moment and saw hatred in his eyes. Was he really that mad at what Zaiden had said.? No, I thought. It's something else.

Without hesitation, Kai strode towards me, his eyes split like daggers and his jawline tensed.

"You shouldn't meddle with things you dont know about." He spoke as he approached me.
