"Jin-Hyung! I found his laptop!", Jungkook shouted from the messy bedroom. I followed his voice and found him in front of the device, between mountains of paperwork, garbage and not-so-clean clothes. "Take it. Let's leave for now. Nothing else to be found". Poor boy tried to keep up with me without stumbling over Mr. Choi's stuff or dropping the laptop. "Don't forget the charger, Jungkook!", I shouted. A curse can be heard, followed by running foot steps. Laughing I walked over to my car. Of course I waited for him - I wasn't THAT mean. It took Jungkook not long enough to come outside. "Thanks, did you lock the door?", I asked, knowing very well he didn't. Another curse and he ran back inside again. Aish this boy...
Turned out the laptop had no Passwort, making it easier to check all his data. In general there wasn't much helpful information - at least not until I checked his browser. He used to write a blog, commenting a lot about the diner, where we found his corpse. While reading his entries I wondered whether he got an obsession with that place. Not even a single negative word can be found in his love letters to Becky's.... Did he even know Becky's wasn't a woman but a diner?
The name of the website was "mysecretspot.com" which sounded quite unknown to me. On such a weird website the victim didn't got more than 85 views and 38 likes. And this is exactly why this website is a new trace - now I got the evidence that the place of his death was not a random choice but pure intention. Scrolling through the number of fellow users I wondered whether the murder was the only one... After all was the way the killer left the corpse was quite unusual compared to regular one-time murders.
So we probably searched for the mafia or a serial killer. Time to check!
"HYUUUNG!", screamed Jungkook, interrupting my thoughts. "What!?", I barked back. "Mrs. Park is calling you". My eyes widened in surprise. Oh I didn't even hear the phone ringing. Hastily I reached out and took the phone.
"Park! What an honor to receive your call", I cheered. "Don't talk bullshit, Kim", she responded. "About Choi Hyunjin. I got news so better hurry". With that she hung up. She was probably quite busy. "Jungkook, I'll leave now and until I'm back I want you to-", I couldn't even finish the sentence.
"Nooooo, please take me with you, Hyung! Pleeeaaaseee", he cried while clinging onto my leg, stopping me from leaving him alone. Every time we got a murder he begs me to let him come along to the forensic laboratory. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "YA! The last time I took you with me, you puked right onto a body. Park nearly murdered both of us for desecration of the corpse", I reminded him of the most embarrassing moment of his life. But of course, it didn't stop his begging - to my annoyance, it was the opposite.
"Kim, finally. And oh- aren't you that jerk who ruined one of my corpses? Didn't know Kim would keep you", she blurted out, once she saw Jungkook. I chuckled silently; of course she didn't forget that incident. The boy next to me started blushing in embarrassment - I pitied him. After all the woman Jungkook upset earned her money by cutting open dead people. Pretty sure she also knew what kind of chemicals won't be visible in an autopsy... in conclusion, Jungkook would stand no single chance against her.
"Anyway", I changed the topic. "You figured something?"
She sighed and took another glance towards the boy beside us. "Better stay over there, because I don't want to clean up another corpse. The view is not really the best for a kid". This time her voice was nearly gentle.
If SHE said this then how horrible must it be? I stepped closer to the head when she lifted the white sheet until the head came into my view.
The moment it got uncovered I understood why she advised Jungkook not to look:
They took out the candies so I could see the big void inside the skull. There was no brain, and a small hole led to the inside of the mouth as Park explained. "The tongue got professionally removed. Same as the eyeballs. The culprit definitely had chiropractic experience. Furthermore, the death is possibly caused by a gun." She pointed towards the small hole inside the mouth. "Caliber 45mm"
