After English ended, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. My mind raced with questions, and I found my way to the school office where the police officers had taken William. Quietly, I approached the office door, heart pounding in my chest. I peered through the small window, desperate to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside. I strained my ears, attempting to read the officers' lips, hoping to decipher the cryptic conversation. My eyes locked onto William's sullen expression, his face etched with frustration with his arms folded across his chest. The atmosphere inside the office was tense, and my heart sank as I realised the gravity of the situation. It was clear that something big had happened.
"I didn't do anything." Uttered William
"The evidence is undeniable, you were there at the same as the victim and you were caught lying about your alibi. Don't get me started on the fact that you have the exact same mask that was left at the scene on your dresser."
"How the fuck do you know what was on my dresser?"
"We had a warrant to check your house, and low and behold we found evidence." The police officer retorted
"That's just a shitty halloween mask, it doesn't mean anything."
"Maybe, maybe not; but we'll still have to take you in for questioning. Hands behind your back Mr Castello." The police officer said before grabbing his handcuffs from the side of his pocket and locking them around William's wrists.
"This is bullshit." Will hissed, "I didn't do anything you can't just arrest me,"
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions. You have the right to have a lawyer with you during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish."
"Get off of me!" Will said trying to free himself from the restraints.
"If you decide to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you have the right to stop answering at any time."
Frightened, I quickly retreated, seeking refuge in the safety of the nearby hallway.
My mind raced, trying to make sense of what I had just witnessed. The pieces of the puzzle seemed to align, pointing to a connection between William, the Ghost Face incident, and the current predicament he found himself in. Fear gripped me as I soon realised the magnitude of the danger that surrounded us. Was William Ghost face?..

The weight of the revelation about William, my best friend, being considered a suspect as Ghost Face, the serial killer, bore down on me like a ton of bricks. It felt surreal, as if reality had been twisted and distorted, and I was left struggling to make sense of it all. My heart refused to believe that William could be capable of such heinous acts. I walked over to the table where Lizzie, Isabella and I normally sat at. "Guys, Will got taken out in English, I think the police officers think he has something to do with the murders.." I said the words coming out as fast as my mouth could let them. They both turned to me in unison, their faces painted with concern.
"We know," Isabella said before pulling out her phone and showing me someone's snapchat story. The video was of William being taken out of class by the police officer with the caption: 'Looks like poor Will isn't as slick as he thought he was. Rumour has it that he's GHOST FACE. Police -1, Will - 0. Don't worry William, I'm sure the match isn't over just yet, just try not to kill anyone while on the prison yard.'
