Patience had never been one of Wanda's strong suits. She despised waiting, biding her time as her handler at HYDRA had taught her — or well tried to. Why should she wait for a better opportunity when she could get the job done at any given point of time? A simple flick of a wrist and whoever needed to be eliminated would be removed swiftly.

Although, she supposed, there was a certain satisfaction in playing the waiting game when her intended victim was Stark.

God, how she hated that man!

She could never forget the moment in that HYDRA base where she had seen him in the flesh — as the Americans liked to say — for the first time. She could have killed him there! She wanted to! It would have taken her all of one minute to finish the job. Instead, she dug as deep as she could go into his mind and pulled out his greatest fear, letting it play out in a smooth motion-like experience as she soaked up the raw fear in his eyes with glee.

That look of absolute dread was what fuelled her till date whenever she remembered that that selfish man was still alive, living out his life in the comfort of his own home while Wanda was forced out of her country and her brother...and Pietro wasn't even alive.

It should have been Stark! It was supposed to be Stark!

Had she known his fear would make him create a robot of all things that would seek to remove every single speck of humanity from the surface of the world, she wouldn't have bothered with playing him. She would have just gone for the kill.

That would always be her biggest regret: leaving Stark alive.

Pietro's death was on her. If they hadn't concerned themselves with Ultron, maybe he would have lived. He hadn't even wanted to side with that robot, it was on her insistence that he had grudgingly agreed.

And she had repaid him by leaving him alone to die. Her brother had died without her by his side. God, why couldn't she have died along with him!

If only Ultron hadn't come into their lives...

Bloody Stark! Always taking everything from her! First her parents and then her brother! She won't let him take anything else away from her!

It wasn't fair!

Why did he get to live a well-respected and loved life while she had people running in the opposite direction at her mere sight?! It wasn't her fault that she had these powers! Why couldn't anybody understand that beneath everything, it was still her! A normal human who only wanted to live a better life!

Why could nobody understand her! Why couldn't they stop fearing her!

She would never hurt any of them! Didn't they know that!?

Why did Stark get to be a hero despite selling weapons while she, who had been nothing but a victim of Stark's greed, was hated by everybody!?

She had seen the online comments. The anger, the fear, the hatred...why couldn't they accept her the way they did the rest of the Avengers?

Pietro would have known what to do. Pietro could have helped her.

Except Pietro was gone and she was all alone. There was nobody to help her.

She had thought Vision would fill that gap initially. They were more alike than was visible at the surface. He was born in the middle of a war just like her. He had nobody else to call family, just like her. He received his powers from the mind stone just like her.

They could have been good together, she knew it. But as it seemed, she was apparently the only person to think so.

Vision, while friendly, had been uncomfortable at the prospect of forming a relationship with her. He had cited his inexperience with humans and his wish to travel around to integrate himself into society as reasons for refusing her.
