I woke up, and the woman I slept with last night was no longer beside me. She left without a trace, only a lipstick mark on my neck. The room was clean, and her things were gone. I tried to recall everything that happened, but I couldn't recall anything. I am so drunk, and my head is aching. I have a hangover. I pick up my clothes, wear them and wipe the lipstick mark on my neck while remembering the woman I slept with. I can't remember her face, but her soft lips and wild kiss linger.
"Fuck" I was holding my head because it suddenly ached and sat on the bed again, and I noticed a brown envelope on the floor beside the bed. I picked it up and checked what was inside. That surprised me because there was cash with a note "for you."
She left me an envelope full of cash that made me feel like a whore. A man who is for rent over time. She slaps my face by leaving me cash. She made me feel I was a sex worker, which I am not. It is my first time encountering a woman like her.
"Oh, shit", I whispered when I saw the time. It is already seven o'clock in the morning. Our planned time of leaving is six o'clock, and we must go before Geoff discovers we have scammed him.
I left the room with the envelope and rushed to our room. I saw the two packing their things, waiting for me.
"Where have you been? We are looking for you all over the place," Janice asked.
"We thought you were already dead," Rankin said.
"You look like you are buried all night, huh?" He asked while laughing, looking at me with my messy hair. He is teasing me that I am buried all night. It means my cock is buried all night, fucking all night and yes, he is right.
"What is that brown envelope?" He asked. I opened it and showed it to them.
"No way," Rankin said with amazement, looking at the money in my hand.
"She makes you a male prostitute", He added, and he wanted to laugh.
"Let's talk about that when we arrive back home. We need to go now before Geoff wakes up," Janice reminded me while combing her hair and putting her lipstick on.
I fixed my things, and we left our room. We must leave the resort before Geoff wakes up and remembers everything that happened last night. He doesn't need to see us again because he might be reminded, which is not a good idea. What he transferred to my account is ours now, and he cannot take it back.
I tried to find the woman hoping to see her again because I wanted to give her back the envelope that she had given me. Leaving me money after sex is an insult to me because that is not what she thinks, but I can't remember her face, and every time I will try to remember her, things are blurry. The only thing that lingers is what happened to us last night, and even I don't admit it. Her body is like a drug to me now that I will crave. She is different from the others, which is too bad because I can't remember her. I close my eyes, trying to erase what happened last night. Her kiss and everything make me feel love. It is like making love, not just sex; the money she left says how she sees and thinks of me, and I don't like it.
"Are you okay?" Janice asked, but I didn't answer. I still have a hangover, and the woman I slept with last night gave me a headache.
"Wait," I said and left Janice. I walk to the woman wearing a red dress and talking to the bellman. She is about to check out now.
I tapped her on her shoulder while carrying the envelope. I am thinking about how to approach her because I am insulted, but I know I can't get mad at her.
"Hi," I greeted them but got disappointed when she turned around and looked at me because she was not the woman I was looking for.
"Yes?" She asked.
"I am sorry. I thought you were the woman I knew," I told her, and
then she laughed and talked to the bellman again.
I saw the bellman who assisted the woman last night, and I ran to him before I lost him in sight and asked him where the woman he assisted last night was, but he looked puzzled and wondered whose woman.
"I assist lots of guesses in a night,", He said, which disappointed me again. I wanted to describe her to him, but I couldn't because I was dumb not to remember her beautiful face.
"The van is here. Let's go," Janice said.
"What is happening with you? It looks like you are under a spell or something. We keep on calling you, " Rankin said. I didn't notice that they were following me.
Yes, I feel like I am under the spell because I can't forget the woman I can't remember. I pick up my bag, and we leave the place without me seeing the woman once again.
"Goodbye, Maldives," Janice said.
She covered her face when she saw Geoff awake, walking to the reception as if he could see her inside the van. Geoff looks around after he talks to the receptionist. He may be looking for Julien Noch, but he will never see Julien Noch again because there is no Julien Noch.
The van left, and we are heading to the airport now. I suddenly remembered the woman's phone that Rankin showed me last night. The phone was my only hope to know the woman and how to contact her.
"Rankin, do you still have the phone last night?"
"What phone?" He asked.
"The woman's phone?"
"Geez, I forgot about it because I was too drunk last night. I don't know who I was with last night. I lost the phone."
"What for? Why are you so eager to see her again?" Rankin asked, noticing me out of my mind because of that woman.
"You have the money. Forget about her," He said when he saw me disappointed. I don't understand why we have a 'wonder man' feeling after we get drunk—wondering what happened last night, who is with us, and why it happened.
The cell phone is my only hope to know her, but sadly Rankin lost it, but I can't blame Rankin for it because I am partly blaming myself now. I was in her bed last night and owned her already, but I forgot to ask her name because she got me too excited, and I don't know why. There is something in her that captures me. It is not because of the insult that she did but because of our one-night stand that I can't forget.
We are at the airport now, and the plane is about to take off, but still, my eyes cannot stop roaming around because I am still hoping to see her.
"Thank you," I said to the girl who stamped my passport, and I put my passport back in my belt bag.
Inside the plane, I sat beside the woman carrying a child while Janice and Rankin were sitting next to each other in front of me. The cute baby boy smiled at me and dropped her pacifier. I picked it up and gave it to her mother when someone texted me using an unknown number. I open the text and read it.
"Have a safe flight."
My heart beat fast, and my adrenaline made me stand up and look
around because it told me that the text message was from her and she was just around because she knew it was my flight today, but I got disappointed when there were no signs of her. I sit down again and smile at the baby boy trying to play with me while I reply to the text message, but when I try to send it. I can't send it. The number is no longer working.
"Fuck", I said, which made the mother carrying a son look at me with a watch your mouth words in her eyes.
"I am sorry," I said. I lean back and close my eyes while still holding my phone and hoping she will send me a message again.
Her body, her breast. The firmness of her ass makes me close my fist because something in her makes me want to know her, but I don't know how because I was an idiot to slip my opportunity away last night. I am too complacent that she is just another fling and one night stand, and she will be nothing after sex, but I was wrong because I want to see her again, and I can't get her out of my mind now.
