Nima's POV
(The night Nima met Caoimhe- Ch. 8)Nima stumbled out of the club, the pounding bass still reverberating in her ears. Her head was spinning from the alcohol she had consumed throughout the night. She found herself a quiet spot outside the club, leaning against a wall, trying to gather her thoughts.
"What just happened?" Nima muttered to herself, her mind filled with a whirlwind of confusion mixed with excitement. She replayed the events of the evening in her mind, her encounter with Caoimhe at the club. And how she found herself being forward at the end.
They had started arguing, exchanging words that seemed to amplify the chemistry between them. Nima doesn't even remember how their interaction turned into an argument but she couldn't help but be drawn to Caoimhe's fiery spirit and quick wit. And then, out of nowhere, Caoimhe had grabbed her face and kissed her passionately.
The memory of Caoimhe's lips on hers sent shivers down Nima's spine. It was a burst of electrifying energy and desire that she hadn't felt in a long time. In that moment, all rational thought had fled her mind, replaced by a raw and intoxicating attraction.
"I basically offered to be friends with benefits," Nima mused, a hint of self-doubt creeping into her thoughts. "Did I say the right thing? Will she think I'm just playing around?" She scratched the side of her neck, leaning on the wall beside the club. "Well I guess I am playing around, but only with her." She mumbled to herself, shrugging her shoulders in nonchalance.
But deep down, Nima knew that her intentions were genuine. She wasn't looking for a serious commitment, not at this point in her life. She wanted to have fun, to experience new adventures without the weight of expectations. And Caoimhe seemed like the perfect person to embark on such an exhilarating journey. And it's not like she's forcing the girl, she merely offered her services.
A smile played at the corners of Nima's lips as she remembered the way Caoimhe responded. The surprise and curiosity in her eyes were unmistakable. It gave Nima hope that maybe, just maybe, Caoimhe would be open to this unconventional arrangement.
"I know what I want," Nima affirmed to herself, her voice filled with determination. "I want to explore this connection we have, without the complications of labels or expectations. We can have fun together, no strings attached."
"Who are you talking to?"
Nima jumped in surprise, not hearing Saffron walking towards her.
"Dude, I almost had a heart attack!"
Saffron shrugged, linking arms with Nima and proceeding to walk home. "Not my fault you were busy daydreaming..." a beat of silence passed and, "so you and Caoimhe huh?"
Nima turned to look at Saffron at her side and replied, "I guess, I mean she suddenly kissed me out of nowhere, not that I'm complaining—
"Yeah you enjoyed it." Saffron butted in, cutting off Nima's words. Nima gave her a playful glare in return, "as I was saying..I'd be down to have fun with her, she's a great kisser and she seems nice."
Saffron hummed in response. They stopped by in front of a small cafe, it's closed of course but it provided them an address pin for the uber. They realized their flats are more than a couple of blocks away like they thought, so uber it is!
"Just be careful then, I hope you know what you're doing Neems." Saffron advised her gently, putting her phone down after booking an uber. Nima looked at her and saw the sincerity and genuine care that Saffron is showing her. So as much as she wants to be annoyed by Saffron's nagging, she couldn't.
