Maya Oberoi's life was good, just the way she liked.
Some would like to disagree if they knew, but she has never cared enough about other's opinions.
So, she was content how her life was going on. It was perfect. Until it wasn't.
One night. That's all it took. One unexpected betrayal.
Her whole life was disrupted. Her reputation, her identity, her heart. All of it at stake.
Then he came, and everything was more complicated. She should've hated him.
Should have, it would have been easier.
In which, Mayarie Oberoi, the most reputed women in all of Solena's court was betrayed.
Her fiancee was rumored to have a lover which he had signed the Birth Contract with.
Her whole life's work to make herself valuable was going down the drain because of her good for nothing, cheater fiancee.
Her father, always distant, had been murderous. She has been subjected to his angry eyes, accusing her of something out of her hands. His gaze blaming her for not being able to control a man just enough to make him stay.
She hasn't said anything then, but silently fumed. Been so angry and frustrated that tears had sprung her eyes when she was finally alone in the meadows near her home.

All of her hard work, all her investments into this marriage were for naught. She knew she had been made into a spectacle.
Her whole life of being sure in her capabilities now in question. Just because of one mistake– agreeing to her (now ex-)fiancee's offer to marriage.
Oh, she had cried silent tears, missing her older twin-brother of 7 seconds as he was currently in the military school.
She wiped her eyes with the back of her silk gloves and suddenly there was a man standing in front of her. A man looking straight at her, eyes scrutinizing. She shrieked and he smirked.
He stared.
"Would you marry me?" He asked and she stared.
Hence began their story.
