The last think Dio could remember was his fight with Jotaro Kujo.
The moment when Star Platinum shattered The World and ripped Dio apart was still lingering in his mind.
The pain mixed with shame was unbearable but pleasant at the same time.
The last thing Dio saw flashing before his eyes was the back of Jotaro walking away.

Dio understood at a blink of an eye that he was dying.
He never feared death, but the thought of leaving the world without achieving Heaven made him angry and sad.
He thought about all the people he met during his long live and what he did to them, good things but mostly bad.
The vague memory of him sitting next to a young man and drinking wine while talking about religions and Philosophy suddenly came to him.
Dio tried to remember his name trough all of his struggles until he remembered it, his name was Pucci.

Dio was floating in a void so dark he couldn't even see his own hands.
- So I'm dead... that's quite a shame...

Dio wondered if he was in Hell or if he would just float forever in this place.
Dio couldn't tell how much time went by, or if time even existed.
He just floated, not sure what will happen next, and if anything will even happen.

Dio was getting impatient and dissatisfied, he could have floated for days weeks or even years by now.
He couldn't even count the times he tried to think of an escape but failed.
But suddenly it hit him, why concentrate on time when it practically didn't exist?
Even during his life he didn't follow the flow of time, stopping it and using for his own devious deeds.
- Is this punishment or maybe another challenge I have to go trough?

The abyss didn't answer to his  monolog, but to Dios excitement it got less imposing, as if it would encourage him to continue.
Dio started to reflect on his past action, whetter they were good or bad.
He analyzed every bit of his life, changing his view of life until one day it hit him.

- Trying to achieve Heaven by creating hell on earth wasn't the right way, only heaven achieved trough devotion can be complete... yet I missed the mark, I the great Dio didn't try to achieve Heaven but hell...

In midst of his pointless monologue he started to cry.
His tears were this of an lost and sorrow man, who realized his wrongdoings and mistakes.

Suddenly the void was lighted up by an unknown light source.
Dio was scared but curiosity won over and he looked in the direction the light was coming from.
The light didn't blind him, emoting a warm radiant wave of golden shine wich looked like it towed Dio nearer to the light  and the warmth of the source.
Dio embraced the light and warmth with a smile on his still wet from tears face.
And suddenly every thing turned up side down in his stomache and he lost conscience.

He woke up not in the void wich has become the only think he knew but in a place surrounded by trees, a forest!
