a little romance

Chapter 1

What if, you fell for someone, he lied and cheated on you, but the both of you still became friends, best friends actually, and all went well, all went back to normal. The two of you have had serious relationships and just coincidentally, both of you became single at the same time. Then out of nowhere he tells you he likes you, so much. He even says I love you. Will you give him another chance for a little romance?

This is my story, it’s kind of stupid but I hope you like itJ

“Bez nakita ko si Archie.”

“Ah. Saan?”

“Sa Makati.”

“Ahw. Sige:)”

“Ok, andito naman ako”

Yep, that was the conversation that changed everything. Rodin, ang sweet, caring, happy go lucky at babaero kong best friend started that kind of conversation again. Honestly, I didn’t want to talk about us in a boyfriend-girlfriend level because it feels so awkward. Well, at least I feel that way, and obviously, he doesn’t.

“Bez addict ka.” I told him.

“Totoo man nga kasi.” He replied.

“Oo na lugod.” Won’t he drop the issue?

“Bez, gusto kita,” he insisted.

“Bez, alam mo man na hindi ako naniniwala sayo diba?” For God’s sake, hindi ko pa nakakalimutan last time. Hmp.

“Ahw, kasi nung second year?” he asked.

“ Tama. Change topic” I replied with awkwardness.

Gosh, I always shy away from that topic. But right now, I can’t help but remember those times. And with a sigh I let the memories take me…

It was way back in second year high school…

“Eve:)” I received a text from someone and it wasn’t that hard to know who it was though for manners’ sake, I still asked.

“Sino ka po?”

“Rodin po. Musta?” he replied.

Wow, Rodin Philip Suarez, Mr. Sweet-charming-caring-boy-next-door type of guy is texting me! Waah!

“Ayos naman. Ikaw?” Ok, just keep it cool Stas, you can do it.

“Xeym. Katext?” he asked. And it went on and on and on through the night.

You were wondering if I were happy. Of course I was. Who wouldn’t? I mean, I have had a humongous crush on this guy since first year and he texted me! Wow. Nice Stas.

It all went so fast, he told me he liked me, I admitted that the feeling was mutual. We texted and saw each other sometimes, and the next thing I knew, kami na, at kabit niya ako. Confusing, right? But that was what happened, which just proves kung gano ako naging tanga sa gagong yan.

Our so called relationship lasted for three months, at least, ganun katagal ko lang nakayanan na magsinungaling sa gf niya. Medyo close kasi kami nung girlfriend niya, si Ate Kandice, parehas kaming member ng Dance Theater ng school and it was always awkward pag nagkakaharap kami kaya I gave up. Umamin na ako. It was a noble act, my friends always told me.

Well, yun, nagkabukuhan na. It appears that Rodin had another mistress, aside from me, if that’s what you were thinking. Ang kapal ng mukha ng lalaking yan, may gf na, may mistress na, tapos may isa pa pala. Bongga na ang bahay-bahayan namin, super exceeding na sa characters. xD

In the end naman, nagkaayos na kaming lahat. Nagsorry ako ki Ate Kandice and pinatawad ko na si Rodin. I hold no grudges kasi. I often think na, what’s done is done so just forgive and forget. Effective naman ang philosophy ko kasi naging friends ulit kami, and two seconds after that, Best friends na kami.

Eventually, nagbreak na sila ni Kandice nang mag-college si ate, ahead kasi yun samin ng two years. After nun, naging si Rodin na at si Aya. Aya, by the way, is the other mistress sa bahay bahayan namin dati. Wala naman akong care na naging sila. Busy na din kasi ako sa sarili kong love life, pero ako pa rin ang shoulder to cry on niya if may probs siya sa relationship niya ki Aya at sa mga fling niya in between.

“Anong ginagawa mo?” he asked one time.

“Eto, nagsastar gazing. Ang ganda ng sky ngayong gabi, noh?” I shared.

“Oo nga. Pero mas maganda pa rin ang Bez ko.” He said.

“Come on Bez, tumigil ka na nga.” I know him too well to fall for his flattering comments.

“Totoo naman kasi. As if naman niloloko kita”, he started.

“Well, considering the fact na ginawa mo na nga yun dati, yes, iniisip ko na niloloko mo ako”, I had no choice but ungkatin ang nakaraan. It was the only way para maliwanagan ang isip ng lokong toh.

“Kung iniisip mo yung nung second year, alam ko mali yung ginawa ko, pero hindi na ako ganun ngayon”, he promised.

“Weh. Di nga”, I can’t possibly believe him, can I?

“Oo nga kasi. Hai. Sa totoo kasi, may gusto na ulit ako sa’yo”, what????

“Bez, ikaw ba yan? Naka inom ka ba? Naka drugs ka ba?” kasi there is no way na sinasabi ito sakin ngayon ni Rodin.

“Lol. Ako po toh at gusto kita” he confirmed.

“Uhm, Bez, kasi, wala man akong planong mag-bf pa for a long time,” I started.

“Ahh, ok lang. gusto ko lang naman sabihin sayo:)” he said. Whew, iwas sa gulo.

“ Ahw, ok. Tingnan na lang natin kung mahintay mo ako:D” I challenged him.

“Sus, para kay Stas, maghihintay si Rod,” he said

And even though I don’t like it, my heart fluttered at his words. It appears, this is trouble after all.
