Chapter 6 ~ Lets Goo!

Speedrun.... go!

Adam woke up dew to a nightmare where he had fallen off of a tall ledge, he jolted awake due to the adrenaline but was quickly calmed down due to the warm arms wrapped around him, he listened to the soft heart beat of the boy hugging him as he sighed some relief. Ryan looked down at Adam who was slightly shaking and reached his hand up to his hair, running his fingers through it.

"You ok, princess?" Ryan asked, as the boy looked up at him, their faces so close that Ryan could feel his shallow breaths on his dry lips. Adam nodded slightly while letting out a long breath, not realizing Ryan felt it because he was still mostly asleep in this moment. Ryan was aswell so he wasn't thinking before he spoke, or made any actions. He booped Adams nose with his own and looked up to go back to sleep, Adam smiled softly as he dozed off as well.

A week later

Adam and Ryan walked to school everyday after that one sleepover, they were stuck together like glue, like best friends that have known each other since birth, they were soulmates. Adam would hangout with him at lunch instead of going to Maddie's house with her and Kasper, and they would walk each other to their classes instead of Kasper walking with Adam. Kasper and Maddie noticed this and realized they could not do anything about the situation, Kasper and Maddie resulted to inviting Apollo over as a result of this and they all hungout, seeming Apollo and Maddie had known each other from the past, so they were already close. Kasper wouldn't drive Adam to co-op anymore because Ryan would, though, they would still pick him and Zayne up.

This was getting out of hand on everybody elses end of the story, they all felt like they had lost their best friend and all of their relationships were falling apart without him in their lives. During religion, Adam and Ryan would sit over on the other side of the room instead of hanging out with the regular group, mostly because Kasper and Ben were not very big fans of him and thought it was ruining the friendships Adam had, which realistically, it wasn't. Adam still had to adjust to the changes in his life, he was moving out of his parents house soon and was probably going to live with Kasper and Apollo, like they had planned years prior.

Kasper had wanted to bring up the changes to Adam to make sure he was alright and if they were still focusing on the plans for him moving, but never got the chance. This really hurt them to the point where they had missed a few classes and only went to co-op, because seeing Adam and these changes had stressed them out.

Another week passed and Kasper really needed to talk with Adam about this issue. They texted him asking if they could meet up somewhere.

JupiterBlue..:Hey, could we talk after class? just for a second?

JupiterBlue..: I just need to adress something, meet me at the bus stop after 3rd

After the whole conversation, the bell rang for 4th, which was when Adam was going to meet Kasper. He walked to the busstop outside the school and saw Kasper sitting alone, waiting.

"Hey," Adam blurted, attempting to get their attention. "what did you need to talk about?" he continues, asking the question that will linger in the air for around a minute.

"You and Ryan have become so close.. It is scary to the rest of us," Kasper said, with some sadness in their voice. "we feel like we are losing you, Adam.." They paused, letting it sink in before continuing. "I'm not saying ignore him and hangout with us or throw him in the dump and come back.. I'm just saying that you completely ignore all of us.. whether it's me, Ben, Maddie, or even Apollo, you have thrown us all away for your dumb little crush.." They stopped, regretting their words. "Look.. I am extremely happy that you have found someone to love you and care for you more then we have, but we are still here, and we miss you, Adam."

Kasper got up and got on the bus that had come, leaving for co-op. They did not give Adam a chance to answer nor apologize for what was happening.Adam stood their, confused and sad.

The day after the conversation they had, Kasper had taken breaks from everything. Social media, poeple, the outside world, and school. They were gone for what felt like months, taking mental health days, even though it still effected their attendance. Maddie, Zayne, Ben, and Adam had grown worried about them, but Apollo would go over to their house to cook them breakfast and dinner and to make sure they were ok. Apollo was the reason Adam would feel relief every morning, just knowing nothing had happened to his best friend.

Ryan and Adam were still hanging out all the time, but the days felt empty. Sure Adam wasn't focused on Kasper or Apollo or Maddie or any of them, but it still felt wrong. Ryan would have to make sure he was ok everytime they hungout, until one day, he made him okay.

"Psst, Adam," Ryan whispered to him while sitting in religion, Adam had spaced out.

"Wha?-" he replied, sort of?

"Meet me by the door at lunch, i want to show you something." Adam looked at him, confused, but hoping it was what the scenarios in his head were thinking.

As lunch came around, Adam had sat in the shaded corner by the exit of the school, waiting for Ryan. It felt like he was waiting for ages but realistically, it was only 5 minutes.

"Hey, follow me." Ryan said quickly, grabbing Adam gently by the hand and helping him up, bringing him into the woods.

"Where are we going?" Adam asked, genuinely confused.

"You will see," Ryan replied "it's a surprise" Ryan chuckled softly, bringing Adam deeper into the woods as if he had hid something like a dead body.

"Here!" Ryan blurted, abruptly stopping and turning towards Adam to face him. Adam blinked at him, confused.

"Why here? What is so special about it?" Adam said, looking around as if to find something that stood out.

"Nothing, yet," Ryan said, raising his hand up to push the hair out of Adams face, "we can make something?" He added, implying exactly what Adam hoped. Ryan moved his hand from Adams hair to his face, cupping it gently, slightly touching his back with his other hand as he pulled him closer, still hold their eye contact. Adam was red, he was understanding though and moved his hands, to Ryans shoulders as they got closer. Ryan stopped as soon as their lips were close enough to graze each other and whispered.

"Are you okay with this?" Adam closed his eyes softly, as he whispered back in a soft, comforting tone.

"Of course."

Ryan took one more glance at Adams soft face before gently pressing their lips together. For the brief few seconds they were there, Adam was in heaven. Ryan slowly pulled his lips away as he looked at Adams red face. Adam looked back at him and abruptly kissed him again, while giggling slightly. Ryan chuckled as he pulled the smaller boy closer and kissed him once again.

This time it had lasted longer then the last, ending in a soft, warm sigh against one anothers lips. They both smiled as they stayed close, hugging each other while now sitting in the grass under a tree. They were in a comfortable silence as the bell rang, sending them to part ways.

Adam had realized he had just had his first kiss, and it was the best thing that could ever happen to him. He was a very happy camper. He had skipped off to class, parting ways with Ryan as he made his way to math. He stepped into the class and realized Ben was sitting in his desk with his head down. Adam went up to him and poked his shoulder and sat down next to him.

"You okay?" Adam asked, looking at Ben with worry as he raised his head off of the desk slightly, looking at Adam and nodding before putting his head back down. Adam nodded, gave him a pat on the back, and went back to his seat.

The rest of the day was quiet, as Adam had finished class and went to co-op but had not talked to Zayne, seeming he was nowhere in sight. As soon as he finished his day he sat outside and waited, debating on whether to call Kasper or not. And if worse came to worse, he would bus home.
