Chapter 72: Kei's Training Progress

3rd POV

The next afternoon Kei was standing back in the same training area, showing the old Sage her progress on the next part of my training.  She wanted to show how far she had gotten in her training.

He was surprised to witness the powerful whirlwind of sharp grassy petals she managed to form with her charka focused on the ground. However, he still decided to go ahead and explain the last technique.

"So first, you build up your charka to create shuriken, and second you learn to maintain even more charka to turn the grass into a powerful whirlwind called Petal whirlwind," Jiraiya said."Finally, you will learn to build up the charka and maintain a more substantial amount to a powerful slash of rose thorns vines. It was Mina's number one specialty, but this one is going to be more complex, and no way you get it down right away," He stated.

"We see about that," Kei said, taking the scroll and reading over the hand signs and steps of the justu.

"Alright, give it a go!" Jiraiya ordered.

Kei nodded and made the necessary hand signs as long thorn vines around her body and spun around, hitting a tree and slicing it in half.

Jiraiya's eyes widened in surprise that a young child had completed each justu in almost two days. Despite the last justu not being completely perfect and mastered, she still did quite well using it.

Kei smiled and nodded at her progress in her training with the old sage.

'She actually managed to learn the three justu and master them faster and better than her mother could. This girl is a prodigy.  Not to be unexpected, being Orochimaru's daughter.' Jiraiya thought, looking over at Kei.

"So how I do?" Kei asked, looking at Jiraiya, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"It's almost perfect. With more training, you should be able to spawn rose petals. However, you managed to learn it quickly.  I'm impressed with your progress, especially after recovering, " Jiraiya said with a smile masking his shock.

"Awesome, I'm even closer to reaching my dream," Kei said, looking down at her necklace.

'This girl has a lot of potential to become an excellent shinboi for the village.  It is a shame so many can't see that because of her also being the child of Orochimaru despite her Senju blood. J understood their concern. She was acting odd during her training for the Chunin Exams and then broke into the barrier calling out to her father,  but it except she a kid who always wanted to see her father.' He thought, looking at Kei, who was sitting on the floor polishing her sword.

"I leave you to be while I go check on Naruto," He said, leaving her to focus on polishing her sword.

'Father, I wonder how proud you would be if you were here watching me training to learn this new justu.' Kei thought, putting her sword back in her sheath before looking back at her necklace.

"Well, guess there's no point thinking about that. Instead, focus n training to make my dream of becoming a strong Sannin shinobi-like father," Kei said, standing up."And, one day, I bring Father home to be the family I wish we were."

After declaring her determination to make her dream and goal come true, Kei began to spend more of her day training and improving some of her older justu and to take a short break from her newest justu.

The sun was almost down as Kei continued with her training making progress with her Wind style justu and the just her father Orochimaru had taught her.

She has trained for hours and is now on her knees, panting to catch her breath.  Her eyes were narrowed as she focused the chakra into the ground, making a prison dome around a clone.

"Alright, I think that's enough training," She said, rending the justu and dismissing her clone.

Kei let out a yawn of exhaustion as she started making her way back to the hotel, where she saw the Old Ssage asleep and drunk, lying down under the blankets next to Naruto.

"Looks like im the last be to get back, " She said softly, yawning as she went and got under her blanket near the window to down after changing into her pajamas. 

'Father, don't worry one day.  I will find a way to bring you home so we can be a family.  It is what Mom would want despite not telling me about her past.  I know she had a reason, and besides, you seem to care about me. You are a terrible person that genjustu shows ne there more to you than what everyone believes.' Kei thought, closing her eyes slowly as she drifted off to sleep.
