"So, who did you write your letter to?" Asked Idden as they drove past the flemming street the very next day. It was a gloomy weather. The wind hardly blew nor was there any sign of  the sun. The group was heading towards the post station to deliver their letters before they head out for school.
"The gardener." Rife shrugged,"I wanted to ask him about the shack but mom forced me to write about changing flowers or something." He groaned.
"Same!!" Said Idden excitedly. "I also wanted to know about Shack but dad wouldn't let me." They both felt considerably cheerful after knowing they wrote the same thing. "Maybe ask god to make you twins next time you're reborn because you are more similar then i am with Rife." They all laughed.
"What about you Ellen?" Asked Sarah.
"Oh ! I just wrote to local mayor asking if they could allow high school kids to work under different sectors you know to gain experience before graduation." They all stared at her. Ellen cheeks went red. "Well.. i know he won't write back but."
"That's brilliant." Said Sarah proudly. Ellen smiled.
"Yeah it is. Quite different from what we wrote."
Said Rife appreciatively. They all mailed their letters and headed towards the school, however something unusual met their way. It was Lorean standing on the bicyle path as if waiting for someone. And they very well knew who it was. "What took you so long!"
Said Lorean angrily. "Sorry we didn't knew someone was waiting for us at the bicycle path." Said Rife coolly.
"I thought you didn't like bikes." Said Sarah.
"I don't frankly. Well, I thought since you guys are riding bikes- No I mean like it's good for environment right. So I thought I should volunteer." She said breathing hard.
"And you wanted to come with us." Said sarah with a small smile.
"No I don't!" She said quickly. "It's for the environment".
"Yeah right, sure Lorean." Said Rife with a hint of impatience. They all drove to school Lorean however seems to not know how to drive the bike properly. She kept on nearly slipping and sliding and the others had to help her again by again to get her gain balance.
"You don't know how to ride a bike?" Asked Idden furiously.
"Well I learned when I was a kid so." Lorean said with a little blush on her cheeks.
After saving Lorean from multiple death scenarios or from the situations from which she could be dangerous injured, they finally reached school.
"We are late!" Said Lorean hastily. "Hurry!"
"Wonder who's fault that is!" All of them yelled together. They barely entered the class, when the school bell suddenly ring signalling the start of class.
"Almost late huh?" Said Emma. "I thought you guys weren't coming." Ms Natalie entered the classroom and the lecture began.
"She declined the group." Said an throughly upset Zack. It was lunch break now. Students were sitting here and there, eating a warm meal bought from cafeteria. They had just sit down on a table together, along with Emma and Caleb, when Zack gave them this news. "Oh no." Said Emma. She too looked deeply upset. "Did they give any reasons?" Asked Ellen.
"Well the same. That your group does not meet the criteria for clubs and it does not help students to gain anything." Said Zack in a voice which sounded remarkably like the librarian. They all stared at the their spaghetti no longer fancying it.
"The students don't gain anything you say..." said Rife slowly as if thinking something.
"Well it can't be help-." Before Ellen could complete it, Rife suddenly jumped on his feet. They all stared at him.
"If they don't allow this club to be made then we will just make another one!"
"Well i thought about it but even if we do name it something different, if another student wants to join they will find out and will most likely tell the librarian." Said Zack defeatedly.
"No they won't. Because we won't allow anyone to join."
"But what if someone reports us that they are not being allows to join the group?"
"That won't be necessary." Rife eyes glowed as if an sudden inspiration had struck him.
"What's up with him today." Said Caleb.
They all shrugged their shoulders.
"A group to help students in their daily problems you say?" Said the Librarian with a suspicious voice.
"Yes." Said Rife seriously. "So you see when you disbanded our group - i mean when you said that the group does not meet your criteria for clubs -." He said in a casual voice with smoothness. "We decided to open a group that would help students in difficult problems as all of us have different hobbies and personalities." The librarian looked at all of the faces and everyone made an motivated look as if they would love to help students and couldn't ask for a better opportunity.
"And we are 8 already including Caleb who couldn't come at the moment but would be enough for a service group."
"Hmm well it is a nice club and some students might need some help here and there."
They all smile a little too brightly.
"But I thought you wanted to open a 'mystery club'."
The librarian said as she raised her eyebrows.
"Yes we did." Zack pressed on. "But we realised we would like to do something for the students as a part of community." They all looked at her with their puppy eyes.
"Well, its not a bad idea... but the community service will need a bigger room won't they? The community centre is crowded most of time and students would like to have some privacy while addressing their problems." But before she could continue, Idden who completely understand stood Rife, stepped in.
"We can take classroom 11-T." He said innocently.
"Classroom 11-T but that class is out of bounds." Said the Liberian with a suspicious voice.
"If you have any other class we will take it!" Said Emma quickly reading the room, very well knowing that there was no extra class.
She looked up-to them. Their eyes were full of determination and formed a small smile.
"Very well, very well, let's make a deal then." It seemed that the librarian wouldn't let them get their ways so 'easily'.
"What deal?" Said Lorean suspiciously.
"If you can show me that you have completed over 10 requests from students within a two week, I will make your group official as well as make classroom 11-T your headquarters."
Rife smirked and said, "Deals on!"
"10 requests in 2 weeks, that's not possible!" Said Sarah dramatically. "We dont know people here and no one will ask for help!"
"Oh come on Sarah! Dont be such a nerd ( I am No-). It's simple, we will just set a temporary base and I am sure we will get some requests!" Said Emma cheerful.
They all walked up the stairs to set their club in the community room. They have been using their free period for their negotiations and walked pass the students who have been in the clubs since the start of class. The room was still full with different age of students from grade 6 to 12 and students were busy with their projects to pay any attention to the newcomers. (The boy in crochet club was still there).
"I have to agree with Sarah." Said Lorean suddenly and Sarah made a quick moment to thank her but then she quickly added. "I don't fancy the idea of helping others in my free time. What a waste of my value specially for free." Sarah groaned. Of course it was Lorean, what else did she expected.
"Ellen say something!" Sarah said desperately.
"Well I personally think it is a good idea to help people and-."
"And we would be also secretly discovering the mysteries of school without anyone's knowledge. Two birds with one arrow!" Said Rife with a satisfied smile. This was not what Ellen has suspected. She just wanted to get a good side of teachers to make good a impression. And now the idea of making a club in classroom 11-T horrified her. "On the other hand, it would be kinda hard-." Her comments were however drowned by excited sqeaks of Zack.
"I must say you made a good argument with the librarian." Said Zack. "I am impressed! You should be the president!"
"Woah woah woah ! Why does he get to be the president!" Said Lorean quickly. "I think we should vote on that." Everyone voted for Rife.
"Better luck next time!" Said Emma cheerfully and Lorean groaned.
They move towards the end of the room and saw an empty table number "31" which was assigned as temporary table for the service club. They sat around the table quickly and arranged the papers and pen when a familiar voice spoke behind them.
"So I guess the negotiations went well." Said Caleb.
Caleb was not able to join as he was already part of soccer's club and was at practice. Students are able to join up-to 3 groups as long as they can manage properly. Caleb was sweaty and his shirt was sticking to his chest, neither the less, he looked pleased that the group was formed.
"You bet it was!" Said Zack. "But we need atleast 10 requests to make it official."
"Oh thats okay. I will tell my friends around maybe they can help!"
"That would be great!" Said Rife cheerfully.
"Now everyone get to work. I will divide the work into two parts. One group can work on marketing the club like make nice posters and communicating."
"We will take that job." Said Caleb, Zack and Emma together. "We know the school best and the people as well." Said Emma.
"Great we will leave that to you! The rest of us can organise and design an order on how we can make this most effective and how we will complete each request while keeping a record."
It was natural for Rife as he was born a leader. It has always been like this. If Rife was given a job, he would complete it with perfection. He always listened to everyone ( except Lorean sometimes who gets unreasonably demanding) and solves every problem creatively and consciously. His leadership skills made him win almost all of the competition and the group was too familiar with him and worked perfectly in his rhythm.
If the world needed to chose a hero to save them, the people would no doubt chose Rife. But the world, and by world I mean literally the Earth , the soil itself, they chose someone else. Maybe , being a leader, even if you are too good, is not what all is needed to become the one who saves the earth and it's people.

It was indeed a tiring day. With their cupboards filled with registrations papers and everything perfectly organised, they were the last people to leave the community centre. Before Emily's hawk eyes could catch them, they quickly left the second floor and move towards the first floor. As they moved towards the main grounds, Rife saw Jack coming from the basement once again followed by Peter. Peter, who had made no attempt to bully them after their first encounter, seemed sulky and annoyed. It seemed whatever detention Ms Natalie was giving to him, was keeping him at Bay. But it wasn't until they have exited the grounds, that Rife thought of something. The entrance of the third floor was from the basement. Jack and Peter had both come from the basement at the end of school. If the basement had a spare classroom for detentions then it was probably the place Peter was having his detentions. If not, then Peter and Jack, both were coming from the third floor.

Lorean's Pov

I entered my bedroom after having my night time massage and completing my skincare routine. Everything was perfectly how it should be. My night slipper beside my bed, my vitamins along with my water was on my nightstand table, the lights were dim just as I like them and my queen sized bed was as warm as it has ever been. I lay down on my bed after taking my medicine and put on my eye cover and fell into a deep relaxation without a second worry. My mother opened my door and whisper good night as she always does and closed it with a small click.
Tik tok tik tok tik tok. The giant clock rang to show that it was midnight and just as always my mind drifted to emptiness.
I had never had dreams. My mother, Katherine Seraph, the owner of this house, used to say it was because my mind was free of any worries. Dreams, she used to say, are worthless and unimportant. They feed you with ideas which are not necessary for human survival. I believed that. I Don't have the need to dream because I have everything I ever wanted. Dreams were for weak and soft minded people. For those who believe that they could not achieve it in real life so they think about it constantly and not work for it. I don't have the need to do that. My name is Lorean Seraph, daughter of Katherine Seraph and Alexander Seraph, who was most of the time away for work, and i have always believed my mother who was my best friend.
Today, however, something came into my mind as i was asleep. I knew it was a dream because it could not be real. Because you dream about what you can't have.
I was standing on a vast empty plain. Mind you plains like these could never exist in streets of Guelph. There was nothing. No trees no flowers no cars no houses. There was just a small table about 50 meters away from me. I could see it clearly that it had a book on it. The book was thick but I couldn't read the name nor see the cover. I moved forward slowly and slowly but before my hands could grab it or before i could lay my eyes on the cover, i was staring at the chandelier which was at roof of my bedroom. My palms and my forehead were sweaty. I could just hear my own fast Heartbeat. The clock ticked to show it was five past forty. Two and half hour before school. I needed sleep. Eyes bags were the worst kind of beauty pain. Try as might as i have, from meditation to hypnosis, I couldn't fell asleep.
For the first time in my whole life , I wanted something desperately. I wanted that book no matter what.
