❝Thank you for... helping me these past couple days, I appreciate it❞

Oikawa particularly shot out his seat once he caught sight of me walking back to the waiting room of the hospital. I wasn't very happy to say the least. My nose was now covered in large bandages and medical tape. A bandage going right up my nose and medical tape across the bridge. I looked like an idiot. Like a mummy and worst than that, Oikawa was right; my nose was broken. Not badly but if I hadn't came to the hospital to have it bandaged up it would've healed funny.
"How's the nose?" He asked once I was close enough to hear him. He had in his hand in his pockets. "Broken," I replied bluntly. He nodded, swinging on his heals. If we were still friends he would definitely said I told you so. I could see how desperate he is to say it. It's painted all over his face.
"You owe me ice cream?" I say, changing the subject. It was beginning to go all awkward and silent anyways. "Yeah, I guess so. Might make you're nose feel better too," Oikawa said, spinning his keys around a finger with a smile. "Let's get out of here. You were right hospitals suck."

Both of us sat in his car with tubs of ice cream. Oikawa in the drivers seat, me in the passenger. I would've gotten an ice cream cone but Oikawa complained it would make a mess of his car and refused to buy me one. I couldn't put up too much of a fight, he was buying and it was his car so beggars can't be choosers.
"Listen," I spoke up, digging my spoon into the ice cream. Oikawa looked over to me, plastic spoon in his mouth. "Yeah?" He said. He sounded stupid with the spoon in his mouth. I sighed, debating on actually saying what I wanted to or not.
"Thank you for... helping me these past couple days, I appreciate it," I say, struggling to find the right words. Oikawa watches the plastic spoon go round the side of my tub as I talk. "Of course, you know I'd do anything for you—" Oikawa starts. "I'm not finished. Let me finish, please," I interrupt. I did not want to hear his romance, 'I'd do anything for you' spiel. He shuts his mouth and goes quiet.
"Look, you've been so nice to me the past couple days and I don't know if I'm ready to forgive you yet but... I'm willing to try, okay?" I explained, fiddling with my thumbs as a spoke and keeping my eyes on them instead of Oikawa, who I knew probably had a face like a deer in headlights right about now.
"Okay," he hesitated to say. I look up to him. He's smiling. I don't smile back.
"Look, I'm willing to try and fix our friendship, I'm not going to a relationship with you so don't do all that 'I love you' talk again, okay?" I confirm. He looks so smiley, it's kinda freaking me out that he's got the wrong idea. He laughs once I finish talking.
"That's fine by me, [y/n]. I'd be happy to be you're friend," he grins, moving in his seat to face me. I just nod, going back to eating my ice cream.
"And thanks for the ice cream," I mumble as I take a bite. "Anytime," he replies.
