The bellowing of gunshots through the night accompanied by the wailing of sirens was no mystery to the people of Rema, in fact it was a norm. The old dilapidated houses, some made of concrete but were faliing apart and others termite infested wodden houses with rusty zinc roofs, lined the pot hole covered streets. Men stood on the corners smoking, drinking and hoping for a brighter future.

"Good morning boss".

" Good morning Mr. McDonald. Thank you for coming in".

" Sure sir. What can i do for you?".

"Well I'd like to thank you for the hard work you put in, but i must inform you that your employment here at the factory has been terminated"

"Why? What did i do wrong?"

"I'm sorry Mr. McDonald but I have to ask you to leave".

"Answer me. Where did I go wrong? Give me another chance sir, I have bills to pay", Tremaine begged.

"I said you should leave my office you piece of worthless trash. Are you deaf or just plane stupid? i said to leave! NOW!", Mr Jackson bellowed rather harshly.

Tremaine's temper boiled over. "I'm not going anywhere you stuck up self absorbed, coldhearted prick. I worked my ass off for this job and I'm not about to walk away", Tremaine violently shouted as he flung the files on Mr. Jackson's desk to the ground.

Jackson got up, threw down his fist on the desk and said, " If you don't leave right now I'll call the police".

Weighing the consequences of being arrested Tremaine decided to leave but before he did he turned to his former boss and threatened, " Watch out, what goes around comes around and i wont take this lying down!" he then immediately stormed out of the factory into the pouring rain and down the street.

Tremaine found himself to the counter of a local bar, about five minutes from his house. By now it was about two o' clock in the afternoon and he started drinking. Taking one shot after another, he went on for hours without stopping until he was drunk in his sorrows. Somewhere between drinks a and touched his shoulder and pushed him into the counter, leaning him over then handcuffing him.

"Tremaine McDonald you are under arrest for threatening the life o Mario Jackson. Remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law", the officer said as her pulled him from the counter and guided him to the car.

Too intoxicated to even put up a fight or argue Tremaine went along and stared out the side window searching for the importance of life. Is this all there is? Working hard all day, struggling just to get by only to be repaid with injustice. After a while, everything started to dim and then suddenly it went pitch black.
