The sun set, turning the land red. it then went dark. the humans settled into bed. but more life woke. not just little critters, but also..
..monsters.
Yellow lifted her head from the edge of her nest and yawned. she strained her ears to listen for her friend, Amber. Amber was the daughter of Orange, the smallest yet fastest of the Rainbow Friends. '' come on,'' amber muttered. '' surely theres one big one in here?''
she heard amber digging through the cakes in her father's cavern coaster. Just like Orange, she was always hungry. Yellow stretched her arms and lifted up her copter-harness. she slipped it on and jumped onto the ground. she heard footsteps from the other side of the hedge.
the was a flash of blue, and suddenly Yellow's sister, Cyan, was behind her. ''hey, sis.'' Cyan said. ''did you hear that i won another game of laser tag and a race around the whole themepark? its like i was born with talent!'' then sprinted off towards the ferris wheel before Yellow had time to answer. ''yeah.'' Yellow murmured as she dawdled off towards Orange's Cavern Coaster. ''talent to be an annoying sister thats smug about everything.''
Yellow entered the tunnel and suddenly heard a high pitched squealing. suddenly alot of lookies came tumbling down the hill, knocking Yellow over. ''go away,lookies!''
Yellow looked up to see Orange standing at the top of the cavern ramp, his teeth bared and claws extended. his expression calmed when the lookies dissapeared. he looked down at Yellow. ''hi, yellow.'' he said. ''come to see Amber again?'' ''yeah.'' Yellow murmured. Orange flicked his tail, telling yellow to follow him.
they emerged into a small cave, usually hidden behind a pile of boulders. ''yellow!'' yellow turned to see amber appear from behind a pile of cakes. ''i thought you'd come visit today!''
amber bounced around yellow. ''wanna go for a walk?'' yellow nodded. ''sure.''
they bounded out of the cave and down the hill, then into the sewer below yellow's nest. amber stopped and turned towards yellow. ''ok, something's wrong.''
yellow lowered her gaze. ''what's wrong?'' amber asked. ''i-its just-'' yellow stammered. ''ugh! i always get left out, while my sister always gets all of the attention! i just want to beat her at something!''
amber stared at her. ''you're right!'' she exclaimed. ''someday, you need to challenge her at something! maybe rainbow racers? shes pretty bad at that, right? nobody else knows that!''
when yellow didn't reply, amber continued.
''someday, yellow, your sister willbe the one left out. someday, she'll find out how you feel!''
