Third person POV
(Year 2002 Monique is 6)
Monique cowered in the corner her step father coming towards her with a belt.
"I thought I told you to have dinner fixed?!" Her farther yelled.
"Mom died before I could a-actually learn how to c-c-cook." Monique stuttered.
He raised the belt and beat her on her face and body before dragging her down the stairs to the kitchen and grabbing a knife and cutting Monique on her left shoulder to her elbow when the door busts down and Monique's aunt and the police busts through and have her father one the floor but before they can handcuff him he grabs the police man's gun and shoots Monique in her right knee. Seconds later Monique passes out not only from physical pain but mental pain also.

While Monique was unconscious she was taken to the hospital and after they stitched up Monique they ran tests on her it turns out that she fainted from the shock of all that happened in her young mind so soon. What they couldn't see was the changes that
happened emotionally. What they didn't see was her. Kasey.
