EMIA ZEOS

After our minor ‘interaction’ in the training room, Lei had already finished her lessons with Professor Anabelle.

I hum as I walked across the halls towards the living area. A minute passed, when I reached there.

With my hands in my tiny shorts pockets, I leaned against the huge door frame, watching them intently as they rounded up the lesson.

Creepy, I know.

“Now that that's settled, I'll see you tomorrow Miss Lei” She smiled as she stuffed her large textbooks into her bag. “Goodbye Professor” Lei chirped, noticing me and discreetly giving me a small nod. Packing up her notes, she scurried away to her room.

“Ah, Professor Martino” I addressed, using her last name. “It's been a while” I continued, taking slow, intimidating steps towards her.

“Indeed it has” She stated in answer, her voice faltering in a way that showed slight fear. “How have you been?” She asked quizzically, her eyes restraining me in place; an act of assertiveness.

Impressive.

“Never been better” I answered honestly, my demeanor transforming entirely, replaced by a prize winning smile.
I was in quite an odd mood today.

“Lei has been doing very well in her studies, she's a very brilliant child” She added. I nodded in agreement.

Lei is a genius, if I do say so myself. I raised her. I expect no less.
“We could meet up for coffee and catch up on matters, Sì?” I suggested, sounding more like am order.

“I'm looking forward to that.”

“Good.”

“Until then Miss Zeos, Ciao.” She nodded a goodbye and made her leave.

I stalked over to the west wing of the mansion to check on my daughter. I had passed her room, her door slightly ajar showing her sitting at the edge of her bed. I looked closer and noticed that she was playing with her dolls.

I smiled softly, knowing that my child could receive what I was deprived of as a kid.

Growing up as an heir to a mafia, there were a few privileges I wasn't given the right to enjoy. For example, I wasn't allowed to go to school because of the previous rivalry between the Zeos and the Amáne famillies. Instead, I was given private tutors to aid my studies.

It was too much of a risk for the only daughter and heir of the infamous Ralin Zeos to be exposed to the outside world. But as the rebellious child I was at the time, I disobeyed and snuck out.

Robbing, underground fighting, gambling and illegal races. I did it all. I was known as the 'Dainty Rose' back in my teenage years because of the elegancy which I executed my tasks.
