The girl I was with had no clue. I was an emotionless monster. I do what I want with no regard for the consequences. The only people that mattered in this world were my family; Ma, Dante, Chris, Ari, and Zach. No one else could compete. I wasn't always like this, but that one night changed me forever.

"Damon, when I tell you to leave, you leave. No questions asked," Pa said sternly. "And you will NEVER talk about what happens tonight."

"Okay Pa. Just stop fussing. I'm 16 years old! I'm not a baby. Let's just get this over with." Pa always went on these odd hour trips and said that he did them for us. I don't see how that was true.

"Son, lets go." We walked a couple more blocks then he stopped me. "D, stay here and don't make a sound. If I'm not back in 30 minutes, do not look for me. Go home and give Ma this letter. I love you kid," Pa said earnestly.

"Yeah, yeah. Pa we do this every time so I know-"

"Yes, and I am sorry that I drag you into this, but know that I do this for all of you. I love you D." Pa said and then turned around and headed to his "meeting". This time I was going to follow him and find out what he does when he leaves. I tailed him from a distance leaving enough room so that he couldn't see me and that I could see him. Pa kept looking about and then ducked into an alley. I crept closer so I could see and hear what was going on and hid behind a nearby garbage bin.

"Where is it?" A a man with a deep voice growled. "We don't have much time and we want our product."

After that, I couldn't hear much of the muffled conversation, but the thing that I did hear, was a gunshot that cut through the night, and the subsequent silence of death. I knew that Pa was dead.
