the leader of the clan. they may be any sex and gender, though each clan of the currents has their preferences. they must be 55+ moons, have mentored 4+ novices, and are unable to have fledglings. a mate can distract from the clan, yes, but not nearly as much as fledglings.

the second in command of the ruler. they must be the opposite sex of the ruler, to balance out opinions a bit. they must have mentored at least one novice, and be 38+ moons. they, unlike the ruler, are allowed to have both fledglings and a mate, but are unable to become the next ruler if they do have fledglings. that is, unless they give the fledglings away. the adjutant must be appointed ruler before the next moonrise in case of the ruler's death.

healer.

the cat who takes care of wounds and such of the clan. they are unable to take a mate, for the same reason the ruler mayn't have fledglings. any healer who is found to have a mate and/or fledglings will be punished. (ie; stripped from their rank, have their mate killed in front of them, have their fledglings taken away, get banished from the clan, etc.)

conciliator.

the cat who solves problems within the clan. they may have a mate, but not fledglings. they mustn't be biased, so as a novice are discouraged from making very strong relationships/connections. the age requirement is 25+ moons, and are expected to take a novice once they have been conciliator for more than six seasons.

serviceman.

the cats who populate the clan the most with their services. they fight, hunt, and protect the clan. they must be at least 13 moons old and may be any sex or gender. they are able to have a mate(s) and fledglings as they can go back into their lives afterwards and a mate won't not prohibit them as much in their role.

the cats who currently have fledglings or are pregnant with fledglings. they are treated quite well as they are making the future of the clan and have plenty of space to be sure they can stay fit while pregnant as that's a big part of the clan's life.

the cats who are training to fit a role in the clan. their age is 6+ moons and they have the ability to choose between being a conciliator novice, a servicemen novice, or a healer novice if they are fit for the role.

the youngest cats; the children. the term 'fledgling' is used from when a cat is born until they are a novice.
