fin's fight

Part 15

 My father stares straight into my eyes. Slowly as if he had all the time in the world he takes his step toward me.

"You couldn't even fight me man to man. He throws the words in my face as if it's some big accusation.

" Yeah like chivalry is important to you and your friends,"I say. I'm actively trying to not look at the officers creeping up behind my dad. Instead, I look at the twisted unpredictable look on my father's face. I risk a glance right as the police cuff him. My father is a burly guy it takes three police officers to subdue him. Two officers have to grab his arms and pull them behind his back the third has to give him a restraining bear hug to keep him from running.

I exhale slowly, reluctantly letting my shoulders relax. It's over. Above the racket of pirates being caught, I hear the grown and the squeal of metal. I run around a pallet of boxes to look over at the nation's boat it's flipped completely on its back. it's sinking!

"The Nektons are still inside! And Maddie!"

My ears are assaulted by the Deep maniacal laughter of my dad.

"What did you do?"I'm answered with nothing more than a chuckle. My father's dark eyes hold a rueful giddiness as he stares at the sinking ship.

"Looks like I got my revenge after all.

Frantically my eyes skitter over the submarine. Maybe I'm crazy but it looks like it's being pulled down. I spot a tine of what looks like in ironclaw. That was most definitely not there before.

Following a wild hunch I run straight down. leaping through the air I land hard In the speed boat.The rapid descent jammed both my ankles but there's no time to feel pain. As quickly as I can I stand up and start the engine.

"Hey! you're under arrest."Fleeing the authorities not a good idea. but this is an emergency. Maddie. Fontaine. Their names pound in my head . the people I love most in this world are about to die.

I take off towards the black hule of a familiar submarine. The biting thought that I might be running in the wrong direction assaults me. If the dark Orca has nothing to do with the strange claw I'm wasting my time when I could be helping the Nekton's escape their sinking home. No trust your gut Fin.I tell myself.

The second the speedboat stops I dive head first into the water. The cold is refreshing water does nothing to soothe my anxiety. With just my naked eye to guide me everything around me is blurry. The Familiar markings on the submarine easily guide me to the Moon pool. in no time I'm inside my old home.I race through the narrow corridors of the submarine I'm astonished that no one is in sight. They must have all been on land to jump me. I try to open the door to the control room but it's stuck.There's pressure behind the control room doorAlmost as if someone is holding it closed from the other side. I put my shoulder into it the Searing pain in my arm was worth it because the door swings open.As I step into the room I can see the bungee cord that was holding the door closed now lying limply on the floor like a dead snakeI look up to see Danny Boy sitting at the control painial of something. The figures on the screen are complicated and undecipherable but the controller in the man's hand looks like it's for a ps4. One difference though there's a large red button the size of my thumb.

"What are you doing?"The normal question just slips out of my mouth. I need to remember to keep on my guard. Put in simple terms Danny boy is no longer my friend.

Danny boy looks up and speaks in a monotone voice."Welcome home." It's clear he doesn't mean it. He knows full well that I am the more capable fighter.

My skin is itching I'm wasting time I just sitting here." Let them go."My voice comes out with abiding sternness i bark in order almost like my father.

"An order is an order."Danny Boy melodramatically pushes a button on the controller.

I jump for him knocking the chair over we both tumble to the ground. I roll off of him reaching a full extent of my arm to grab the nearby controllerbut Danny's boy's fist connects with my jaw. it's just a glancing blow but it's enough to disorient me for a moment. when I open my eyes Danny boy has the controller.He lies on his stomach but hold his control it triumphantly in the air. Instead of losing my balance and exposing my underbelly by grabbing the controller I lunge at Danny boy. The force of my boots pushing off the wall launches me forward I extend my hand onto his arm and shoulders. Effectively knocking him on his back.I land in a good hit right at his nose. I can practically see the stars circling his head. His eyes flutter closed and he goes limp.

Forcibly I take the controller and slam my fist into the big red button with the sharpie R on it. let's hope it's R for release.

For a moment I stand to my feet breathing heavily. my communicator crackles. fontaine's voice comes on the line! " Finn are you okay?"

" I'm fine how about you? Your family Madeline?"

"All safe."

For a moment my voice chokes on relief . I swallow hard " that's great."My voice is tight and full of emotion I almost lost everything in the entire world that was important to me.

" I love you." Fontaine and I said the exact same time.

A hand grasps my shoulder tightly." You're under arrest pal."

Kaiko's perspective

I stand on the dock with my family and Madeline shivering wet we just swam away from our sinking home .So much for all the repairs fiction and I just made.I scanned the dog for Finn I don't see him anywhere. I hope he's okay it was a really risky move to stand up to his father like that. I haven't always trusted the boy 100% but I do care about him.

A police cruiser arrives from the direction of the dark orca. Finn is on board Fontaine smiles and waves to him but he merely grimaces. a police officer hauled him out of the boat and that's when I see he's handcuffed.

" what is the meaning of this? he just turned in the most wanted criminal on the world oceans Authority records shouldn't you be slapping him on the back or something."

" the warrant was for Hammerhead and his crew."

" But Finn isn't dark Orca crew anymore. he left as soon as he turned 18." Fontaine speaks up.

" He's still in accomplice he helped in a few cases of thievery as a child. He has to face retribution for the crimes he committed in his youth."Police officer speaks calmly.

" but that's not fair he committed those crimes to survive."I say feeling a strange motherly protection over the boy.

" and he's the only guardian of his little sister right now."Will also tries to reason with the man.

' I don't make the rules I just follow them."

"But that's not fair. he worked so hard three jobs just to feed me. he tried to get us away from dad as soon as possible. the neck didn't help but it was Finn Finn who was taking care of me you can't take him away."

" Are you implying that The nectons Help The Wanted criminal."

" oops." Madeline said.

"You were also a member of dark Orca crew would you come with me please. The officer motions for Madeline to follow him.
