Kurt and I were taken to the hospital, my ankle was sprained, and Kurt had a fractured wrist; besides a few cuts and bruises, we were both okay.
"Are you okay?" I asked Kurt.
"I feel a little weird, but that's probably the drugs...."
"Yeah...same."
The door opened, and Kurt's dad and brother walked in and carefully embraced Kurt.
"I'm okay, I'm okay."
"You scared the crap out of me, man!"
"I'm okay."
"Kurt, your arm is fractured. I wouldn't call that okay." His dad said.
"It could be worse."
"I highly doubt that."
"Dad, they could have done a lot worse. They actually planned worse...."
"Where are these people?!"
"Relax, dad, they're in prison...."
"What matters most is that you're safe... both of you."
"Yeah, we're fine."
"Come here..." Kurt's dad said and carefully hugged him; I smiled, but my eyes watered again...I was happy Kurt was back with his family...but it just felt like something was missing.
Kurt's mother, Carole, walked into the room with a file in her hand and walked to me.
"Hi, Blaine; how are you feeling?"
"I'm-I'm okay, a little tired... I'm glad Kurt is safe and back with his family..."
"Blaine... there's something I wanted to discuss with you. But we can wait if you want, so you can rest."
"No, I'm okay. What is it?"
"When Kurt came to me about your case, I had someone dig a little more, and...we may have located your parents. Your real parents" My heart began pounding.
"You-you- what?" I gasped; Carole looked at me, opened the file, and handed it to me.
"15 years ago, a woman named Pamela and her husband William Anderson came to our department after their son, Blaine Anderson, disappeared from the park on their eldest son's, Cooper's, watch. It was 15 years ago. You would have been 2 at the time of your disappearance." I didn't know what to say. I kept fumbling over my words.
"They're in the waiting room...would you like to meet them?"
"I...what if they don't know who I am?"
"Hm, you never know...there is a possibility that they won't recognize you, 15 years is a long time, but you owe it to yourself to try it, right?"
I bit my lip and nodded my head.
"Okay, I'll bring them in..."
My hands began to shake and sweat, my breathing increased, and Kurt walked up to me and sat in the chair by my bed.
"Are you okay?"
"No...I'm terrified, Kurt."
"Why?"
"I spent 15 years of my life...believing that two horrible people were my parents and that they never loved me...and now I'm minutes away from possibly meeting my real family...so...why am I so terrified?"
"Blaine..." Kurt said and rested his hand on mine.
"You don't need to be scared, but it's understandable, you went through something traumatic for years, but I believe that this is a chance for a brand new start..."
The door came open, and Kurt lightly kissed my head and walked away. I looked up and saw a woman and two other men standing in the doorway.
The woman, who I'm assuming is Pamela, was beautiful, tall and had long brown hair. She walked up to me and rested her hand on my face looking into my eyes.
"Blaine..." I looked into her eyes, they were the same color as mine.
"Oh my god!" The woman sobbed and threw her arms around me. I was stunned and didn't know what to do, but I soon found myself wrapping my arms around her. Tears fell down my cheeks, and I shut my eyes tight.
"Mom?"
"Yes! Yes baby, it's me...."
The two men walked up to me; one had very slick black hair, almost like mine, and the other had a lighter brown and looked younger. It must have been my brother and my dad. I gave him a small smile. The older man's eyes filled with tears, and he wrapped his arms around me.
"I have a mom and dad...."
"You always have, son...."
The woman turned to the other man, who refused to move.
"Cooper..."
He walked up to me and couldn't take his eyes off me.
"Blaine..."
"Yeah...it's good to know that's actually my name." I smiled a little but was instantly surprised when he hugged me. I wrapped my arms around him and heard him start to cry.
"I'm so sorry, Blaine; I never should have looked away. It was all my fault...."
"What?"
"I was in charge of watching you...and I turned my back for a few seconds....and you were gone. I looked everywhere, but I couldn't find you..."
"It's not your fault..." I reassured him.
"You know what? You're here... you're safe, and that's all that matters." Pamela, or I guess I should say, Mom, said.
I smiled with tears falling down my face.
"Oh honey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing... I'm just so happy right now...I have a family...a family who loves me."
"Oh, Blaine..." My mom said, and all three of them hugged me. I felt tears stream down my cheeks. My eyes opened, and Kurt was smiling at me. I released the embrace.
"Um..." I cleared my throat, "There's someone I want you to meet." I gestured for Kurt to come over.
"Uh...mom...dad...Cooper, this is Kurt. My...my boyfriend. He's the one who gave me my voice back." I smiled, holding his hand.
"Oh...uh, it's very nice to meet you, Kurt." My dad said he seemed hesitant.
"It's nice to meet you too."
"His mom works on the police force; he told her everything...I'd probably still be trapped with Gerald and Katrice and silent if it wasn't for him."
"You...you saved our son?" My mom asked.
"Um, I guess I just really wanted to help him and-" he was interrupted by my mom pulling him into a hug.
"Thank you. Thank you so much for saving my baby..." She cried. Kurt smiled as he wrapped his arms around her. My dad walked up to him and held his hand out.
"Thank you." Kurt smiled and shook his hand; Cooper immediately hugged him.
"Thank you for saving my little brother..."
"You're welcome." Kurt smiled.
