(Song: atlantis)

(first person)

"Please, if you cared about me, you would let me go, but you never will. You're just counting the days until everyone forgets I exist. Until I cripple and rot in this fucking house!"

"Damn it Andrea!" He slammed his hand on the wooden table, making the tableware shake immensely.

He sighed and continued, "Can't you see that everything I'm doing is to protect you, can't you see that I'm trying to keep you safe from-"

"Safe from what? Pansy's rat from down the street?" I let out an irritated laugh while walking towards Lucius.

"You don't know anything!" My father stood from his chair and strides towards me, his rugged finger piercing my shoulder. "You think because you know a few spells, you're so tough and now can apparently handle all the shit in the wizarding world."

Lucius brushed my shoulder as he made his way to the rusty broken cupboard of whiskey. I watched as he gulped the intoxicating liquid, drowning himself in the bottle. Refusing to look at my father ruining himself, I make my way to the other side of the room and lean on the table.

I really wish Mattheo wasn't in this room right now.

"You said that once I turn sixteen ,you will let me go or was that you talking shit again?"

He ignores me and continues to drink. I look over to Mattheo for some help but he ignores my gaze and looks at the floor.

It wasn't his fault. It was mine. For believing every word he said to me.

"So what? I'm never going to Hogwarts?" I scoff, shaking my head realizing the reality of my life. "Or outside in general."

Lucius took a deep breath and rubbed his temple, "Andrea , you don't understand," He paused and looked at me.

"No! You don't understand!" I walk towards him. " Do you think it's easy seeing my friends, he people I love, go away every year?"

He says nothing.

"Do you think I enjoy seeing my friends for only a few months each year?"

Lucius sighs. "Let's talk about this when we don't have company!"

He violently grabs my arm and drags me to the door, but I am quick to yank my arm out of his grip.

"Every day , every day I have to hear about how great Hogwarts is! Every day!"

"Calm down child!"

"I am not your goddamn child, get the fuck away from me!"

I walk backwards to the fireplace where Mattheo is silently watching.

"I'm 16. I'm a kid, I should be living my fucking life instead of watching people get killed on the table!"

My anger was overcome with tears of sadness. I realised that my life will never change. I will stay staring at the same four walls for yet another day. Tears stained my cheek, and my watery eyes, glanced at Mattheo's, who was watching from afar. His brown eyes were filled with sorrow and guilt, but he shouldn't feel guilty. My so-called father should.

"Please, please let me live!"

Without a word, Lucius leaves the room.

My knees break away and collide with the floor.

I immediately feel strong arms catch me.

The smell of Mattheo's cologne washes over me as he wraps his arms around me. Together we sat on the floor, in each others arms, in silent. I felt safe. All my troubles went away when I was with him. He was my rock and I can't believe I can't see him again.

Mattheo's soft curls grazed my cheek as he kissed my jaw.

"It's going to be alright darling."

He moves his head so our noses are just centre metres apart, and places his gentle hands on each side pf my face.

"Nothing can keep me from you."
