Chapter 2: Blue Beetle trailer.
Everyone got ready to watch the next viewing, when suddenly, strange waves of white energy started to appear.
"Woah what's happening?" Ruby asked in surprise.
"Beats me sis." Yang replied as she was in awe.
"Stand behind me girls." Tai brought his daughters behind him despite their protests.
The energy soon starts to converge and spiral together. The spirals then circled around together, before pressing against each other. Pressure soon started to build up. With a loud boom, the energy released all over the theater room. Causing the audience to be pushed back.
After everyone collected themselves, they saw a white orb in the middle, floating.
"What is that?" Pyrrha asked in awe.
"A new world." Everyone turned to see Arcanus appear right behind them.
"A new world?" Ozpin raised a brow at this.
Arcanus then began to explain, making his way to the orb. "What you saw was a new universe being created." He then grasped the orb. "Since the orb is white, it is still being developed."
"What does that mean?" Nora asked.
"Meaning that if I put it in a projector then you would only see glimpses of that world." Arcanus went to put it away but stopped when Ruby spoke. "Do you think we could watch, Arcanus sir." Ruby muttered as she poked the tips of her fingers together. The scribe looked at the red reaper before sighing.
"Very well. But I would ask you to save your questions after the viewing." Everyone nodded as the scribe inserted the orb in the projector. Once the screen turned on, everyone got ready to watch.

An expensive looking building with a pool appeared. A young man dressed in white with sunglasses was standing, looking out in the distance. This was Jaune Arc.
~
"That's Jaune?" Ruby asked, her cheeks had a tiny bit of pink on her cheeks.
"Damn Vomit Boy cleans up nicely." Yang whistled, earning the ire of Ruby, Pyrrha, and Blake.
~
"Excuse me Mr. Arc." The young man turned his head and took off his shades. Facing a young woman with blonde hair, who was looking at him with a deadpan expression. A scraper was in her hand. "You finish scraping the gum off that lounger or what?" She pointed towards one of the chairs, causing Jaune to groan.
~
"Who's that?" Pyrrha asked, tilting her head to the side. Her eyes slightly narrowed on how this girl is connected to Jaune.
"Joan?" Saphron, Jonathan, and Angela blinked. Surprised to see another Arc on the screen.
Ruby tilted her head to the side, "Who?"
"My little sister." Saphron simply answered. This caused many to go 'aw', while Pyrrha let out a sigh of relief.

A plane started fly in over a beach, the words 'I love Orleans'
Jaune was sitting on the roof with his sister, the both of them were looking out towards the city. Looking so close yet so far.
"Everything right now just feels so out of reach." Jaune admitted to his sister.
"You'll always land on your feet, bro. You're an Arc." His sister assured him.

The Arcs nodded at this.
~
Jaune was now standing outside a tall building. The word "Chloris" was engraved on the side of it. His hair slicked back, he wore a dark blue suit jacket and khakis, a nervous expression appeared on his face. Jaune took several steps forward but stopped with an annoyed expression on his face. His family was standing behind him, cheering him on. "Jaune! Jaune! Jaune!
"They don't get out much." Jaune explained to a man who was walking by him, looking at the scene with confusion. The blonde felt embarrassed about the whole situation.

The Arc family let out a light heart chuckle, they always did this with Jaune. His friends laughed as well, as they found the scene to be funny.
~
Jaune was sitting in a waiting area with others. He looks up to see an elevator, he then spots a familiar looking woman.
"Reese?" He stands up.
~
"Who's Reese?" Ruby asked. Weiss was about to answer her but Angela beat her to it.
"She's one of Jaune's best friends." She said before giggling. "He had the biggest crush on her, and he would do anything to get her attention. Reese was the same. They probably would've been dating if it hadn't been for her moving away." After her explanation, Pyrrha, Ruby, and, surprisingly, Blake narrowed their eyes at that fact.

Once the elevator came to a stop, Reese Chloris exited with a small burger box in her hands.
Several guards came rushing down the stairs.
Reese was then in front of Jaune, handing him the box. "Guard that with your life, but do not open it." Jaune looked at the box in confusion.

"Why would she want Jaune to protect that?" Ren asked.
"I believe we will find out soon Mr Ren." Ozpin replied.
~
Jaune placed the box on the kitchen table. Around him was his grandmother, parents, uncle and sister.
~
"She gave him a burger?" Yang raised a brow as she got a closer look at the box.
"I don't think it's a burger." Blake stated.
"What do you mean Kit-Kat?" Yang asked the cat faunus.
"That Reese girl told Jaune to guard it with his life, with guards chasing her. I doubt they'll go through all this trouble for a burger." Blake reasoned. She doubts that Reese would give Jaune a burger while in a panicked state. Though she couldn't help but ask what was in the box.
The Arc family meanwhile, looked at the other older man in the room with Jaune. Their eyes were wide. They couldn't believe it.
Angela and Spahron turned to Jonathan, both giving him looks of concern.
'Jason?' Jonathan thought as he felt his body staying still. Not wanting to move.

"So you went in to get us jobs and all you brought back is a hamburger?" His sister gave Jaune a deadpan face.
Jaune turns to his sister with an annoyed expression. "Okay, I don't think it's a burger."
"You haven't looked?" She asked in disbelief.
Jaune opened the box, revealing a blue metallic beetle inside.

"What the hell is that?" Yang asked.
"I have no idea." Blake responded.
~
"What the hell is that?" His uncle asked in confusion.
Jaune holds the blue metallic bug in his palm. Its body is now glowing and moving around.
"How'd you get it to do that?" Jaune's sister asked in amazement.
~
"Aw, it's cute." Ruby cooed.
"How is that cute?" Weiss asked in disgust as she turned to her leader.
Nora then butted in, "Well, I think it's cute. In fact I'm gonna call it Jaune Jr!" Her friends looked at her with deadpanned looks. Minus Ruby as she thought it was a fitting name.
Glynda and Qrow looked at the screen with raised eyebrows before turning to Ozpin. "Have you seen anything like that, Oz?" The drunken crow asked the immortal headmaster.
Ozpin stayed quiet before taking a sip from his mug. After the warm liquid went down his throat, he brought it down. "I'm afraid I have never seen anything like this in my entire life." Ozpin admitted to his two colleagues.
"Still, that beetle must be very important if that Chloris girl told Mr. Arc to guard with his life." Glynda added in.

"I think it likes me." Jaune had a smile on his face. Awesome by his new little friend.
Without warning, the scarab jumps onto Jaune's face. The action of the scarab caused his family to scream.
~
"JAUNE!" The blonde's friends and family screamed out.
"Jaune Jr get off your father's face this instant!" Nora scolded the metal bug.
~
"It's on your face!" Jaune's uncle, Jason, cried out. His hands in the air as he was freaking out. Jaune struggled to get it off before he slammed himself against the wall.
"Get it off! Get it off!" Jaune panicked. His uncle rushed towards him, attempting to get the big off his nephew's face. The scarab responded by blasting him over the kitchen table with blue lightning.
A bolt of blue lightning traveling outside the house before striking a power line.

The boy's friends and family held their breaths. Hoping that nothing bad would happen to their friend/crush/son/brother.
"Jaune please be safe." Pyrrha prayed.
~
Jaune was now on the floor, the back of his hoodie was now glowing. Indicating that scarab was on his back. It then started to bulge out.
~
"Jaune." Angela brought her hands to her mouth as she gasped. She doesn't know what that thing was doing to her boy, and that scared her.
~
"Jaune." His mother called out in concern.
His jacket started to burn away as large limbs came out from his back. Jaune suddenly flew up into the ceiling, with the legs holding him up. His body was then spread out against his will. His family screamed as it did.
~
"W-what's happening to him?" Pyrrha asked nervously. Though she was never given an answer.
~
A black mass started to form around his body, burning away the rest of his clothes.
"Oh my oum." Joan looked at the scene before her in horror.
Blue armor then started to form around Jaune.
"What is going on?" Jaune screamed out in terror. The black mass soon covered his entire head. As soon as it did, the limbs let go of the ceiling before retracting, causing Jaune to fall onto the table.
Jaune now stood up, the black formed a black bodysuit, with the blue armor glowing with blue light on it. Two limb-like attachments sprouted from his back. His head was covered in a blue helmet with the face colored black. His eyes were covered with yellow lenses.

There was a brief silence before it was broken by Ruby.
"If it wasn't for that horrifying scene earlier, I would've said that was cool." The red reaper spoke.
"Ditto." Her older sister responded.
~
Jaune Examined his body before looking up to his family. "What the?" From the inside of his helmet was a HUD display, with an alien language being displayed. A reticle scanning the faces of his family.
"Sweetie?" His mother called out.
"Host acquired." An automated female voice spoke.
~
Ruby, and Winter's eyes widened at the sound of a familiar voice.
"Penny?" Ruby asked in confusion. She and the others were confused as to why Penny was in there. Figuratively speaking.
~
"Who said that?" Jaune looked around, searching for the source of the voice. Suddenly, the pack on his back opened up and started humming.
~
"That's not good." Yang pointed out with concern. A bad feeling started to form in her gut.
"You can say that again." Blake added in, also getting a bad feeling.
~
Jaune turned to his family and tried to calm them down, despite the fact that he himself wasn't calm. "It's okay. It's gonna be okaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!" Jaune was suddenly blasted up into the sky. Leaving a massive hole in the roof as he did.
~
"Jaune!" His mother called out in fright.
"Woah! Look how fast he's going!" Ruby exclaimed, apparently oblivious to the Arc mother's worry.
"I'll say, I think that might be faster than you." Yang pointed out, getting an annoyed humph from Ruby in return.
~
He flew up through the cloud with rapid speed before stopping once he left the atmosphere. Into the vastness of space.
"Oh! I'm in space." Jaune gasped in awe as he floated about.
~
"Incredible, to be able to reach the atmosphere in so little time is unheard of." Glynda said, amazement was evident in her voice.
"Indeed it is." Ozpin agreed with his colleague.
~
"Re-entry systems ready." The voice then called out, grabbing Jaune's attention. The jets on his back then turned off. Jaune Widened his eyes before crying out. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, no, no, no!" The blonde started to fall down from orbit.
~
"Jaune!" His friends and family cried out. Worried for the blonde's safety.
Angela felt dizzy and was about to faint but her husband caught her.
~
The blonde continued to fall, yelling as he did. He saw that he was heading towards a lake and screamed. However, before he could make contact, two wings suddenly appeared, stopping his descent.
~
"Thank Oum." Angela let out a sigh of relief, her baby boy was fine. Everyone who was close to the blonde knight did the same.
~
"What is going on?" Jaune asked as he examined his reflection in the water.
A door opened up, showing Reese with Jaune's family behind her.
Reese then appeared sitting down next to them. She then started to explain what the bug was."It's called the scarab. It's some kind of world-destroying weapon."
~
Ozpin raised a brow at this, a world-destroying weapon? That did not sit well with him. The headmaster discreetly turned to his colleagues as they were of similar thoughts.
~
Jaune was now in the middle of the street, a bus rapidly approaching him. The driver slammed the breaks but the bus kept accelerating. Jaune braced himself for impact, never noticing the two wings redeploying, forming a shield as it did.
"It's designed to protect its host."
The bus finally made contact, however the shield started to cut the bus in half. The shield melting away the steel.

Everyone was in shock at the scene before them. The fact that Jaune cut a bus in half like nothing was surprising.
~
Jaune lowered his arms and was in shock at what was happening. The terrified passengers couldn't help but freak out.
"Sometimes it does what you want and sometimes it doesn't."
The two sides of the bus then split into two different directions, crashing into other cars.
"I-I think I cut a bus in half!" Jaune told his family as he entered the house. Presumably after what had happened.
The screen changed to a bunch of machinery being powered by blue lightning. Similar to what the scarab had produced. The scarab itself was then seen floating emitting powerful waves of energy.
"The scarab chose you." Soldiers drove up to the Arc household and started to surround it. "but it belongs to me." An older woman with green hair appeared, seemingly talking to Jaune, who was off screen.
The soldiers then proceeded to forcefully enter the house. Jaune's family was then outside as the soldiers held them at gunpoint.

Saphron, Jonathan, and Angela grew worried for their counterparts.
~
"The love you feel for your family…" Jaune flew in as he dodged some bullets before kicking the one, or thing that fires, "makes you weak." A man with a beard is shown exiting a tent.
~
Everyone frowned at the man and at his words.
~
Jaune, fully suited, beat his fist together, forming gauntlets. He then proceeded to beat up a couple of the soldiers in a strange facility. Sending them flying with punches and kicks. Reese and mama Arc ducked down as an explosion went off next to them, sending several soldiers flying.
~
"Yeah! Beat them up, fearless leader!" Nora cheered.
"Nora calm down." Ren chastised.
"Yeah, go Jaune!" Ruby joined in with the pink bomber.
"Ruby!" Weiss complained.
~
Jaune's uncle then flipped some switches, revealing that they were inside a giant beetle. The beetle then flew off.
"Whoo!" Jaune's uncle whooped as he steered the aircraft. The Arc family strapped in the back with weapons in hand. The aircraft is then shown flying to an island facility.
Jaune's uncle is seen sitting next to his nephew. With cuts of Jaune slamming his fist down onto the ground. "The universe has sent you a gift and you have to figure out what you want to do with it." Jaune flew up into the air.

Jaune's family smiled at the sight. Jonathan, sighed softly, Jaune was very close with Jason when his son was younger. However, after that day, Jaune was very recluse, seeing this scene reminded him of happier times.
~
Jaune's sister is seen outside holding her father as their house then explodes. The scene then cuts to Jaune flying in.
Jaune was then inside a warehouse, his right arm was morphed into a blade. With a flick of his wrist, another blade formed over his left. "Whatever you can imagine, I can create." Jaune then brought his arms forward, connected the arm blades. Soon, they started to morph into a giant sword.

"It can make weapons out of nothing?!" Ruby exclaimed, stars in her eyes. Her family sweat dropped at this. "I wonder what else it can make?! Can it make axes? Knife? Bows? Rifles? Guns?" She then gasped. "A gunknife! Gknife! A Knife!" The red hooded speedster to ramble on. Her mouth was moving at speeds like Dr. Oobleck during history.
Yang then grabbed hold of Ruby's shoulders, "Ruby calm down. You're rambling again." She said sternly. Ruby was brought out of her rambling before giving an embarrassed chuckle. "Sorry."

"Let's party." Jaune said before he started to slide the blade against the ground. "Oh yeah!" The Arc yelled before kicking the blade up, bringing it up to his shoulders.
~
"Nice choice." Qrow said.
~
"Nice choice." The voice complimented.
~
Everyone laughed as the words were repeated on the screen.
Qrow simply grumbled in embarrassment and looked away.
~
Jaune then swung the blade downward, as he did a wave of blue energy came out. The screen went to black, then the scarab appeared along with a title.
BLUE BEETLE
~
"'Blue Beetle'? Sounds like a superhero name." Weiss said.
"That's because our Jaune-Jaune is now a superhero!" Nora exclaimed loudly, jumping on top of her seat.
Ren sighed before pulling the hammer maiden back down. She can get too excited at times.
~
The screen finally changed as it showed Reese, Jaune, Joan, and Jason inside a lair with all sorts of suits and gadgets.
~
"Wow, look at all that!" Ruby exclaimed. Her eyes sparkle at the sight of all the gadgets and weapons. Anyone who knew the red reaper and her antics chuckled. Classic Ruby.
Though they will admit that the gadgets are pretty cool.
~
"Whoa." Joan was in awe as she held a holographic shield in her arms.
"It's like Batman's stuff." Jaune said, excitement was evident in his voice.
"Batman's a fascist." Jason called out as he was working on a console.
~
"Who's batman?" Ruby asked as she tilted her head sideways.
"Maybe another hero in that world." Yang shrugged, "Probably one of those brooding types that Blake would like." Said girl turned to the blonde brawler with a confused frown.
"The heck do you mean by that?" She asked.
"I dunno, the name 'Batman' just screams edgy and brooding. I figured those are the types of heroes you like." Yang once again shrugged.
Blake said nothing before looking away.
"So, any questions?" The scribe asked the audience.
"Yes, just what was that thing that attached itself to Mr. Arc? I know Ms. Chloris said it was a world-destroying weapon but I figured you'd know more." Winter said. She and the others wanted to know what this scarab was.
"As Reese said, that is a device called the Scarab. Biomechanical beings that attach themselves to living hosts." Arcanus started to explain. "There are others like it. They were created by an alien species called the Reach."
"Who are the Reach?" Blake asked.
"They are an alien race bent on conquest. They travel the galaxy, intending to conquer other planets for profit. They did this for a long time until they came into conflict with the Green Lantern corps. Think of the Green Lanterns as space versions of Huntsmen and Huntresses." Everyone was in awe about that, more so the younger members of the audience. The fact of outer space versions of Huntsmen and Huntresses out there in the multiverse was awesome.
"Anyways the Reach and the Green Lanterns, after a long war, the two eventually made a treaty. The treaty depicted that the Reach would no longer conquer any more planets. Though of course the Reach didn't like that and they decided to use the Scarabs to infiltrate planets subtly and by the time anyone noticed anything it would've been too late."
"That's…" Nora began.
"... horrible." Ren finished.
Everyone agreed with the duo, such a thing happening to an innocent world, all for something as petty as profit, made them sick.
"That's enough questions for now. I must go take care of some business." Arcanus then turned on the projector. "But for now, continue watching." In a flash he disappeared.
Everyone simply sat down and got comfy, ready to see what's to come.
