INT. GREAT HALL - DAY
Athena sits at the Gryffindor table, bent over a parchment, her quill scratching away. She looks up finished. Suddenly, she's tackled into a hug by Theo and Blaise.
Theo: We heard what happened!
Blaise: Are you okay? Does it hurt?
Theo: Can I kill them?
"Yes" Lily, James, Marlene, Dorcas, Alice, Frank, the Slytherins, Prewett, Weasleys and Minnie say to Theo, Theo then grins sinisterly at Umbridge.
Athena: 1. Yes I'm fine 2. Not as much as it did before 3. Not yet, wait a little longer
Theo grins and Blaise sighs. The two sit down, either side of the girl. Ron and Hermione join them. Hermione is staring up at the teachers table. Hagrid chair is still empty.
"Where is Hagrid?" Alice questions.
Hermione: Hagrids still not back yet. I hope he's alright
Athena: I've asked Sirius about it
She indicates the parchment. Hermione pulls it towards her. She looks startled.
Hermione: Athena, you can't write to him! Owls are being intercepted, it isn't safe
Athena: Don't worry, Hermione, I wrote it in code. Anyway, I figured I need to tell someone about Umbitch. My scar hurt again last night in detention
Ron: Always knew she was a bit fishy
Theo: [Eating a cauldron cake] No thats just her fanny
The hall bursts into laughter. Theo smiles smugly.
Athena laughs aloud, Ron turns bright red whilst Hermione gapes. Blaise reaches round and smacks the back of Theo's head. Athena high-fives Theo.
Hermione: You think she's working for You-Know-Who?
Athena: Well, it's a possibility, isn't it?
Hermione looks dubious. Ron zones out.
Hermione: I suppose so. He could have her under the Imperious Curse, though it's unlikely. Dumbledore'd know
Athena: Just like he knew Quirrel had Voldemort attached to the back of his head? Just like he knew who Tom Riddle was? If Dumbledore truly knows everything then why did he allow those things to happen? There's something not right about him
Hermione: Now that you think about it...I guess you're right
Everyone turns to glare at the Headmaster.
Athena leans closer.
Athena: Yeah, but Dumbledore didn't have a choice, did he? She'd been sent here by the Ministry. Even if he is all powerful, he still has to go by what the Ministry says
Neville comes walking over and joins them.
Neville: Hi guys
Theo/Hermione: Hey Neville
Blaise/Ron: Hi Neville
Athena: Hi Nev, your plants okay?
Neville: They are blooming!
Blaise: Shit! I spilt my drink everywhere!
"Hate it when that happens".
Ron: [Zoning back in] I spilt water all over myself once. Don't know how I done it, think I was a being a bit of an idiot
Athena: I do it all the time
Theo: Spill water over yourself?
Athena: [Shaking her head] No. Think that Ron's an idiot
The Prewett twins and Weasley twins high five Athena. "That was good!" Fabian complimented, "kinda set yourself up there Ron" George says.
The four laugh whilst Ron throws a pastry at Athena. Hermione unfurls a copy of the Daily Prophet.
