Melony stared at her wall, Meggy had come to visit. It had been a week, a week since Melony graduated.
Melony hadn't told anyone about how she saw Axol again, and what choice she had.
"Melony, you seem off.. what is it?"
Melony regained focus. She turned over to Meggy.
She looked down, holding in her tears. She could've made a choice, a choice that would've let her be with Axol, but by a chance, if she did that, it would possibly threaten her friends lives.
It would've been selfish. But it was all she initially wanted.
She looked up.
"I saw Axol."
She quietly mumbled.
Meggy's eyes slightly widened. "What do you mean.. you saw.. him... when?" She was deathly curious.
"When Niles took me to the god box and all that I.." her voice cracked, coming to terms with what actually happened. "I.. I died." She trembled. Meggy sat there, her face painted with an expression of disbelief and a sort of sadness.
"Then, I.. I saw Axol. He's been waiting an-and.."
She looked down, "I had a choice, to go with him. Or.. go back, and save you all."
Melony felt ashamed to admit this.
"I.. wanted to, go with Axol.. but.. I couldn't.. leave you guys." Her voice cracked more.
Meggy couldn't talk, she wouldn't know what to say.
Melony's eyes weld up.
"But.. " she looked at her hands, "With me being.. some sort of.. God.."
"I wonder how long Axol would have to wait.."
Meggy watched Melony, thinking of words.
Eventually, she spoke up, although her voice a bit shaky as well.
"..Melony, you.. you shouldn't feel bad about this.."
"..Everyone has their own problems, and they all wish they could fix them.."
She looked at Melony.
"...Do you know how much... I wanted to go back, somehow, and save the people I couldn't save..?"
Meggy tried to comfort Melony, but all the while she was trying to give herself confidence as well.
"... I'm.. sure.. Axol will be there, waiting. No
matter the time."I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry writing this.
