I sailed my ship, on the open seas
Looking for gold, and tea leaves
But a thousand sales could not retrieve
The heart my love took away from me.

I built up my ship, my hopes and dreams
But the journey, never is as simple as it seems
The Lord, drifts further away from me,
As I chase our past, on the open seas.

For a man with a past, who runs very fast
Flashed my heart in a blast, but wasn't made to last.
Now the memory of that burn, still caused me to yearn,
But one day with hope, this lesson I'll learn...

You must enjoy the chase, regardless of the pace
The inspiration each day, that motivates your play!
Don't always be looking for a final end,
time marches ever onward, in ways we can't comprehend.
Value what you have, even if it's "just a friend."
