Awkward Silence

The Next Morning

I wake up i feel a hard muscular grip i try to move but i am stuck. I turn and see its Ares i push him off and get out of the bed, he wakes up scared as if he was just shot. He noticed why i got up so quick, he grabbed his things and left.

I am finished in the bathroom, i get dressed in some jeans and a white long top with some boots, i put some mascara and lipgloss on and did light curls in my hair. 

I make my way to the dinning room, i hear Malina going off about Ares and I sharing a bed. I silently walk in and just sit down and begin to eat, throughout breakfast Ares and I kept making awkward eye contact and Malina stared me down like she was going to slit my throat.

Everyone was silently eating until this guy i've never met before asks " Maria what do you wanna do when your ready?" i sit there for a second thinking hard " i think i'd like to start my own business for giving places for horses to stay and for wild or injured horses to live" i say with a slight smile on my face. Everyone looks shocked at my business choices. i look at the muscular, handsome man and say " Who are you?" he laughs and introduces himself " how rude of me, i am Carlos and me and your brother Alessio are friends through our parents." i just smile and tuck my hair nervously behind my ear.

Alessio gives me an annoyed look and silently says loud enough for me to hear " god does she have to try get with all my friends" everyone over hears it as well. I begin to feel embarrased and suddenly tear up but before they could tell i was about to burst out crying i got up and walked away as i hear Malina laughing. GOD I AM REALLY STARTING TO HATE HER WHEN IM TRYING TO BE NICE!. 

I run out of the mansion into the back yard which is huge, i see a newer modern barn so i go to look. I open the big doors to the barn and see what i never expected out of my family, there were horses and barn animals everywhere but out of them one horse stood out the most. It had a white but grey look to it and a rough long mane with a tinge of grey in it. It look like no one cared for it and it was the lonely one of the horses. 

I start patting it and instantly fell in love and i think he did too. He put his head on my shoulder as i gave him neck rubs. I saw there was a brush on a bench where all there equipment was i got it and started brushing it and checked him out. As a kid i always used to research about horses i loved them and the old lady next door had a nice farm and she'd take me and her granddaughter and i would go ride the horses and care for them. That is the only part of my childhood i enjoyed.

I saw this nice saddle and i thought to calm me down and relax and forget about everything would be good. So i saddle the horse up and then i hope up on him, i take him out the barn and start riding away from the mansion into a paddock. 

I am riding him and i hear everyone calling for me but i don't answer i just keep riding. I see a course set up with barrels, i have a bit of experience from when i was a kid i had a few barrel races. I get ready i scope out the course while patting the horse i get him ready as he starts to run the course we are going fast.

i hear a female  say " she is here" but ignore it and keep running the course. Now we are going around the last barrel before finishing the course we go around the barrel and the horse starts sprinting. I hear multiple clapping, i look to see that everyone that was at the table were watching i just smile at them. i hear Malina say " get my expensive saddle off that hideous horse right now" i look at it, makes sense that it's hers she is so big headed and bratty and would need the best of the best. 

I hope off the horse without saying anything and taking her saddle off the horse i walk up to her and nudge it to her. I walk back to the horse and jump on him bare back and just ropes, " i don't need your stupid expensive sh*t to ride the horse i can ride bare back, also Malina i don't know what your problem is but i try be nice but ever since i got here you've been nothing but a b*tch." She starts to get angry " You wanna know my problem? My problem you come and you act like everything revolves around you and we have to live around your rules and be all hush hush so you don't get too emotional" i laugh.

" If that is really how everyone feels i can easily leave, i have my mothers inheritance that gives me enough to buy whatever i need and want. So if youse don't like me here i can easily leave just like my mother did." i said as i rid up the hill as fast as i could, until i got to a dam  where the horse started to drink from.

Carlos Pov- 

Malina just said the most harshest things to that poor girl that made her feel not wanted by anyone. i say frustrated " God Malina do you never know how to just shut your mouth for once? or do you have to be a thing to everyone?" Ares walks up and pushes me. I laugh in his face " seems no ones gonna go get the poor girl i will."

"No you won't she's my responsibility" said Ares. I laugh " well your not doing a very good job at that are you" as i walk off and get one of the horses i put the saddle on and ride off to find her.

Marias pov-

I am sitting there on the ground while trigger is drinking out of the dam. I called him trigger because it just felt right. I hear someone on a horse losing control of the horse and to my suprise it is Carlos. He is yelling at the horse, the horse is on its back legs i run up to the horse and show i'm not gonna hurt it and that it can trust me but trigger runs away from being scared. 

"MOVE BACK AND LET ME ON AND HOLD ON OK " Carlos nods as i jump on the horse he holds around my waist tight. I pull the horses reins for it to go faster. "Hold on i don't need you hurt" Carlos just laughs but grips tighter, we catch up to Trigger and i lean over the horse and grab Triggers reins. Both horses come to a stop as i breath heavily. 

"Gosh horse girl you got moves, your not made for the mafia are you? your so different from us" he says suprised. i sit there thinking Mafia? What mafia?. He looks at me with worries " omg you didn't know, oh god i am gonna get strangled by your father."

I am full of anger and frustration  that i did not know about this, this must be the big secret my mother kept from me. I lose it at Carlos " MOVE LET ME OFF RIGHT NOW" i get off the horse and hop on to Trigger, i look at Carlos for a second and ride off away from the mansion as fast as i can. 

I knew eventually there'd be a fence to stop me from leaving, but as long as i was away from them i don't care. I am on the horse and Trigger is bolting through the field, i keep riding and riding until i find myself trapped. I need to get out of here now before i lose it, but i already had i am sobbing and upset and Trigger can sense somethings wrong. I turn him around and start to head back to the mansion were i can go out the entrance. 

I am uncontrollably sobbing as i get Trigger to go faster. 

Carlos Pov-

God i am gonna be strangled by both her father and Alessio. I go back to the mansion.

I run inside the house and quickly fix my suit up. " Guys shes gone, we need to find her" her father and Alessio and Ares run towards me "WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHES GONE CARLOS!" Alessiop roars out. I sigh " The horse got out of control and it went crazy and scared her horse and she was helping me with my horse and then she got on my horse with me and she rode to find her horse and then i said something along the lines of " gosh your good horse girl, your definitely not made for the mafia." i say.

"I forgot she didn't know, and she got off and got on her horse and rode off".

Theres a neighing outside of the mansion and all they could see was Maria flying on the horse out the front entrance. " Your an idiot Carlos" says Ares. 

As we all run to the underground garage to get the cars to look for her.
