I was looking at the beach through my window seat, waiting for something to happen. My iPad had to charge and my parents had no time for a game. l get off the window seat and look around. I spot some drawers under my seat and try to open them, but they don't move. I try pressing them but they just move in more. I grab the face rock, seeing as it appears to be magical, and press it against the drawer. It pops open and inside is an old, brown, leather-bound book. I get back up on my window seat and open up the book. It was in english, but it had strange, large symbols on the pages too. I suddenly recognised the symbols as the runes from earlier. I read a bit of the english parts and realised that the book was teaching me the runes language. I decided to read on and later request to my parents to go back to the beach.I dashed onto the beach and toward the rock pool I saw the runes in. I drop in the rock again and the magic begun. When the runes settled, I knew how to read it. It said:
To find great treasure,
Follow these directions
A secret beach
You must find
This beach can only be entered
When tide is lowest
Entry is granted for only one wave length
But be warned
Many dangers await
In the waters of the tide
"Dangerous waters? That has to be Bone Rock," I said to myself. I looked at my parents. "Low tide tonight is at 10:37. I will have to sneak out,"
I slowly closed the front door of our cottage and slipped my socks on. It was 10:12 and my parents were asleep for the night. I put on my runners and went down the winding driveway. I always got annoyed with it's twists and turns. I understand that the cars need it to not speed and crash, but it's irritating for pedestrians. They could just build a pedestrian path that is free of turns up to the top of the hill. I reach the bottom and walk across the grass toward the entry to the beach. Even the government didn't bother to put in a path. I cross the road and begin walking down the dirt track to the beach.
