Of course the thing that would make him message you after three years would be the giant baby bomb you dropped on the internet. You didn't want to put your daughter online in the beginning, mainly because you were so busy trying to be a single mother and maintain a stable career in social media. However you knew at some point that people would find out, you had millions of followers and couldn't go anywhere without someone asking for a picture, and you wanted to take your daughter out to eat, and go shopping with her, like most parents did.

When you found out you were pregnant you decided to move your mother in with you. She was so happy that you were finally giving her a grandbaby and was more than ecstatic to help you raise her. A week after your 27th birthday party you went into labor. It took 13 hours and an embarrassingly large amount of pain meds.

Now she was three years old, and your mom had moved back home, she stuck around as long as she could to help you out but decided she needed to be back in your home town taking care of your siblings as well. So you were on your own, you had made plenty of online influencer friends but were too much of a homebody to see anyone in person. You were nervous about posting about your daughter and knew that some people would be upset that you hid her for so long. But subjecting a baby to the internet was not in your plans, and even now that people know you planned to keep her face hidden for as long as possible.

Truthfully you knew who her father was, you just didn't think anything would come of involving him in her life. But now that the news was out you assumed he had a right to know.

The next day, when noon approached and you got ready to meet up with your ex-boyfriend, you got a sudden rush of nerves. It took a lot out of you just to answer her messages in the first place. Your relationship was messy, and the breakup was even messier. And the fact that the both of you had newfound Instagram fame from your shared time on Outer Banks, meant that the whole world knew your business and privacy was a luxury not a privilege. Since you left the show after season 2, you've become more private, as well as starting a solid career on Instagram, and with an online clothing brand.

You sat at the diner, waiting for drew to walk in, you had ordered the two of you your usual coffee orders, in hopes that his hasn't changed. You didn't expect your heart to drop the way it did when he walked in. But when you saw his face again you simply couldn't think of anything than that last happy night together.

He made it clear that he was serious right away, he sat down in the booth across from you, with probably what you would describe as the single most serious face you've ever seen. "Where is she?" he asked, noticing that your daughter was in fact, not seated next to you. "She's at daycare Drew, I have work after this." you respond curtly. No matter how dreamy he may look after all these years, you won't simply forget what happened between the two of you.

"y/n, don't fuck with me right now, is she my daughter? Yes or no?" he had his hands clamped in front of him on the table. You took a deep breath, and picked at your fingernails, a nervous habit you haven't been able to kick since you were 17. "Yes." you mumbled. Drew let out a breath, in relief or despair you had no idea.
