The unexpected discovery

The deeper Sarah dived the header it got to see. She pushed herself to swim faster but she was getting out of breath; she was starting to feel a bit dizzy. She was close ... Very close. She grasped on to a nearby piece of seaweed. Snap, it broke of in her hand. She was not going to give up now. She got a hold of a the rock on which had her brother behind. She looked.. It wasn't what she expected!

Sometimes what she sees shocks her but this time it was a really good example.
What she saw was a ... Mermaid?
She was shocked, stunned and scared all at the same time.
Laying ( in a state of shock ) was a mermaid. Her tail was a beautiful emerald colour, and her hair was a deep chocolate brown with rainbow dip-dyed ends. She was amazing.

"Hello?" she called, her voice shaking uncertainly.

"Yes. I won't hurt you..." Sarah trailed off, moving closer to her.

"Listen," the mermaid gasped, "I know where your brother is. Dr Fazlich took him, and hurt me in the process. I was just about to help him back to the surface."

Sarah nodded, consuming the information.

"So if I help you," Sarah pondered thoughtfully, "will you take me to my brother."

"Yes, I'll take you to James." the mermaid replied. "I'm Pearl. You are?"

"Sarah. Now, where did he hurt you?" Sarah inquired, peering at Pearl.

"He cut my tail," Pearl explained, "and I can't swim without it."

Sarah nodded and took some supplies from her backpack. "This'll take a while, so sit tight and try not to move."
