In Zi's mind
'I'm hating myself for doing this but what has to be done has to to be done'Zi's head laid carefully on Lark's chest. She clenched his shirt firmly in her hand and deliberately altered her breath. Her facial features were brighter and her eyes began to swell.
"Lark? Is she okay?!" Lark was about to place his hand around her, before replying to Lee when Zi fell on the floor with a thud her breathing heavier.
"ZI!" they all shouted, rushing to her aid. She was trembling on the floor gripping at her chest.
"What the hell did you do to her?!" Sam shouted while Lee quickly scooped Zi into his arms and began cradling and rocking her in an attempt to calm her down.
"We were just talking..." Lark said stunned on his knees lost in the terror of his thoughts and fears that consumed him. His tongue had been rendered useless and no coherent sentence made its way through his lips.
"Sam!" Lee called out to her. beads of sweat where trickling down his face as he desperately clung to her, "Just get her meds, we can find out what happened later!" Lee lifted her in his arms and carried her to the living room as delicately as he possibly could, placing her on the couch like a fragile egg, "Please just calm down Zi," he pleaded in a whisper. He wiped away the drops of sweat glistening on her face with the sleeve of his sweater, "Please!" he begged desperately.
Sam sped off to the cabinets searching for her bottles of medication, "Lee I can't find any of them!" she replied frightful. Lee had paled, his pupils had shrunk in fear, he had began to tremble along with Zi. He held her hand firmly in his, wracking his head wondering what he could do in that moment.
Lark was still in his position on the floor, confused. Was she acting? Was this all real? Had he just unknowingly killed his sweetheart by disposing of her medication? He stared into nothing panic slowly creeping into him, "Lee? Should we call an ambulance?" Sam asked hurriedly searching for her phone. Lee didn't respond he was to worried about her to think about calling anyone.
'What do I do? Zi...' he gripped her hand tighter. Lee's eyes lit up in realization. He searched the room for Zi's computer bag. It was laying under the coffee table. He grabbed it and rummaged through it frantic. He pulled out two fat white pens. One with a red tag and the other with a green tag.
"Thank God!," he cried he quickly uncapped both and pierced Zi's skin with them one after the other. After the last one after a few seconds Zi had calmed down and was breathing normally again. Lee began to tear up, grateful to God that she hadn't thrown sway her emergency epi-anti-anxiety injections.
Lee groaned in frustration failing to stuff back the tears he had been holding back. He placed his forehead on hers, "Thank God your safe!" he whispered. Sam breathed a sigh of relief slumping onto the floor regaining her tranquility.
She turned her attention to a petrified Lark who began to release the tears to him, his own frustration had began. The frustration that he couldn't do anything when he was most needed.
Sam and Lark were in the kitchen, cooking dinner. There was dead silence between them. Every now and then they would stare back into the living room checking on Lee who had fallen asleep cradling Zi firmly in his arms their hands intertwined.
Lark felt his heart chip with every glance. He felt like he didn't deserve to be with Zi anymore, no matter how much he wanted to scrape Lee of her, he owed him for saving her from his crucial mistake, "Dammit!" he sniffled as he sobbed to himself
Sam felt sorry for him. She assumed Zi had kept him at arms length and he didn't know about her anxiety attacks. She placed a hand on his shoulder and tried to comfort him.
