Part 6

Aris gulped then sat next to you. You give a shaky sigh, and start to talk. "Look, I have been in this darn Maze sense I can remember, well, sense all of us can remember. I became a runner almost immediately. Once the order was set up, it was official, I was one. I went into that dumb maze every stinking day, trying to find a way out. I did so for years, I was offered to become the Keeper of the Runners, but said no, I didn't want that pressure on me. After 2 years of running, I finally met one of those things we call grievers." You nearly whisper, wondering if you should keep going, not wanting to have a panic attack in front of Aris. Aris just stared at you, and you sighed. "One day, when I was in the maze, with my partner, Lindsey, we were running a normal day in the maze when a griever showed up out of nowhere, we tried to run but...." You say, tears streaming down your face, and Aris grabs your hand. 'Hey, you can stop now." He says, but you shake your head. "No, I can keep going." You whisper, but Aris gives you a worried look, but you keep going anyway. "The griever caught up to us, it killed Lindsey, and there was nothing I could do to save her. I tried to run, and nearly got away, but not before I jumped on an Ivy wall, and then had to jump off, and broke my ankle." You say, rubbing your left ankle, the dreadful memories fully back. You shuttered, and felt like you started to relive it, you felt the sweat that poured down your face, Lindsey's steam filling the air, the Griever chasing you, you jumping off the wall..... "Y/n!" You snapped out of your thoughts and saw Aris shaking you, you were sweating, and crying bitterly. He pulls you into a hug, and you don't fight his comforting arms. He holds you until you finally calm down. "I'm so sorry Y/n, I had no Idea it was that bad." He says, brushing his hand across your face. You try to get yourself back together. "It's fine, you had no way of knowing." You say with a light smile, and he looks at the ground, and sighs. "Yeah, no way I could now." He says sadly and you give him a puzzled look. "Aris?" YOu say, and he looks at you. 'Something you want to tell me?" YOu say, and he only smiles lightly. "Oh, there's a bunch of things I want to tell you, but I can't. Not here anyway." He says, and you give him an even MORE puzzled face. He laughs and you smile. "Well, is there anything you CAN tell me?" You say, and he thinks about it. "Yeah, but I;m so scared to say anything." He says, and you laugh. "Oh no, I scare you ya stick?" You say with a smirk. "Hell ya!" He says, and you both burst into laughter. "Ok, well tell me soon, our i'm gonna get it out of you myself." YOu say with a grin, and he only nods, you both stare at each other, and Aris gets close to you, and you lean your face closer to his, not sure what's coming over you, Aris starts to lean in and so do you.....
