Other than books, a cup of iced latte on a warm summer day, and a good 2000's rom com film, I do also love spending the rest of my summer vacation here at our beach house. Clearly, it's the best place for a good read. The way I could clearly see the majestic ocean view, and how the salty sea breeze kissed my skin whenever I idled by the porch and read or watched a film.
There's nothing I could hate about this perfect place.
Except for one thing.
"Just fucking do it, dude!"
"That's our Aaron right there!"
My freaking neighbor, Aaron, and his weird shenanigans.
They were at it again.
I glanced at our window only to see my neighbor and his weird buddies currently screaming over something in front of our yard. There's like about five of them out there. I couldn't really see their whole bodies because of the fence but I am certain that they have their badass looking skateboards with them again. They seriously think they're like those cool skater boys who do nothing but cause trouble.
For the past few weeks since we've arrived at our summer house, they were the only hindrance to my peaceful summer girl agenda. Although it was mostly Aaron.
One time, we were having a barbecue by the front yard when I saw him walking their two dogs. One was a German Shepherd and the other was a Doberman. He winked at me, which was weird, when he passed by our yard. I was the one assigned to grill the meats that time so seeing him walk by was inevitable. When he got back, he suddenly let go of the dogs from their leash and they all instantly jumped through our fence.
I was mortified. I thought they were all after me but luckily they weren't. There's actually a stray cat by our porch and the dogs happen to see it. I really made myself think it was an accident because the dogs were big and he probably didn't have the strength to hold them both.
But it didn't end there. I was driving our car to town because Dad was busy and he needed someone to run the errand for him so even if it was against my will, I didn't have the choice but to do it. When the streetlights turned green, I was about the drive again when a guy on a skateboard suddenly popped out of nowhere. I almost fainted, thinking I hit him.
Turns out, it was none other than Aaron the neighbor. He had this teasing smirk on his face when our gazes met across the road. I was convinced by that time that he was clearly a madman.
Then just recently, I was having a peaceful afternoon by the porch, reading the last instalment of The Chronicles of Narnia when I suddenly heard My Chemical Romance blasting from our neighbor's house. As in literally blasting like he was fucking using a megaphone. I got so mad that I ended up throwing a rock I found through his window.
What happened next?
The window? Shattered.
Me? Humiliated.
Him? Didn't give a damn.
He was annoyingly unhinged. I even heard him hysterically laughing that time like he just watched the most entertaining sitcom ever made. I couldn't go out of our house for a whole week until I was sure again that his windows were fixed because of that.
It was awful.
Since then, he and his friends would often do weird things in front of our house. As much as I wanted them away for my peace of mind, I couldn't really retaliate because my mind would immediately wander through his broken window. It was clearly an accident!
My mind instantly snapped back to reality upon hearing a loud splash in our front yard. I immediately stood up and ran outside only to be welcomed by my wet neighbor, front seated inside our almost emptied inflatable pool (which Dad made for my brother when he was too lazy to go on the beach), with the whole yard being a wet mess.
