One Love

The news

So it's just another day at school. Girls gossiping, boys staring nothing new honestly.

"So did you hear the news Caitlyn?" asked Annie.

I just looked at her with a look of confusion and replied "No whats the news? Wait if its bad don't tell me school just started and I don't want to ruin it with bad news."

"Okay so there is supposed to be a group of new guys starting at our school and rumor has it that they are hot" mumbled Marie. You see Marie is the shy quiet one. She's been that way since eighth grade. She really never talked about guys. She was always more focused on school and classes. She didn't really like my boyfriend either. She had her opinions on that one.

I was somewhat wondering where they heard this news from so I just replied with a bored expression on my face "Okaaayyy. Why are you telling me this? Did you forget I'm with Robert?" Okay so Robert is my boyfriend of two years. He's a sweetheart when it comes to me. Only Annie gets along with him. Marie doesn't like him she is just distant when he is around or she makes an excuse and leaves. Angel who is Annie's twin hates him with a huge passion. Why I have no clue, but she will put up with him around me. They argue like crazy, you would think they were related. 

"No, we didn't forget Caitlyn. He's just never around and he has been so distant. And don't you dare say he has been there. Caitlyn he hasn't answered you're phone calls or text messages. There is something up with him" replied Angel.

"What do you know about the situation Angel? Huh, you don't know a thing. He's just been busy thats all." I replied.

"Whatever" is all she replied.

Just then Robert walks up and smiles at everyone. He kisses my forehead. "What's up guys?" He smiles at me and looks at me adoringly.

Angel replies before anybody else can, "I don't know maybe you can explain why you aren't talking to my best friend. Like you know the girl you are dating! Or how she ended up with a bruise on her arm?"

He looks at her with anger clear in his eyes before he covers it. He replies cooly, "I've been busy with school and work." He turns to me and says, "Babe, you have a bruise on your arm? What happened? Why didn't you tell me? Did somebody hit you?" He had anger in his eyes. I knew he was just asking the questions to throw Angel off.

It never worked though she looked at him through slitted eyes. I saw the anger plain on her face, but unlike Robert she didn't try and hide it. They all knew something was going on between Robert and I. Honestly, on the other thing I'm scared shitless. Not because of the looks I'm getting from my best friends but from the look on Robert's face. He is honestly pissed because they saw the bruise. I'm so going to get it when we are alone.

"Ummmm" was my lame reply. But just then the bell rang so we walked away. I had first period with Robert which happens to be math. Which is my favorite class. But I knew I probably wasn't going to be going to that class today. I could tell Robert was still pissed. We were in the hallways by ourselves, becuase he wanted to talk the "long" way around.

I was scared. No lie I was freaking out inside. I was waiting for it. Once he realized we were by ourselves he hit me. I fell on the floor with all the force he put into the blow. He rarely hit me in the face though, but this time he hit me in the face. That's going to bruise I think. He takes the chance to kick we in the stomache while I'm still on the floor. When he's done kicking me he picks me up by the hair. Which causes me to yelp in pain and suprise.

"I told you time and time again to cover your bruises. I won't hit you again though I'm so sorry. Have you learned your lesson yet?" he said.

The thing is he always says sorry and I won't hit you again. So I know that is bull. He also always blamed me for it. That was when he slapped me again and punched me in the stomache. "Answer me damn it!" he roared.

"Yes, babe you told me to cover them. But I did this time I really did. I don't know how she saw it. I'm sorry baby I really am." is my reply.

He just grunts while walking and says "Cover the bruises better next time. Oh yeah I don't think you should come to math class today. I advise you to clean yourself up before you go to class. Okay?"

"Okay baby. I understand" that was always my atomatic reply.

"Oh and baby." he says while he turned around.

"Yes babe?" I reply.

"I love you. Don't forget that." was his reply. Yet another thing he says after he beats me.

I reply with an "I love you also baby and I won't." He hates when I say I love you too back to him. He thinks I'm being forced to say that. 

I took his advise and went to clean up. My face looked like shit. I pulled my shirt up and saw the bruises already forming and the old ones looked like they were fading. Now that is an easy bruise to cover. But my face on the other side now that is going to be hard. I need an excuse maybe an I walked into a locker is a good idea. Yeah I'll go with that one. Let's just hope they believe me.
