at this point, it was basically ritual for chris and freya to hang out after she got back from work. today, matt and nick had decided to go to the beach so it was the two of them, again.

meet me behind the mall after work

um.. okay?

freya parks her jeep in the parking lot and walks behind the mall.

she's alone for a minute but after a few minutes the van pulls up.

"get in the car." chris said.

freya didn't object and got in the car.

the two were driving for a minute before slowing down just before a trail.

"what's this?" freya asked.

it's a trail she'd never been on before, she wasn't sure what it was.

"you'll see." chris explained.

the two walk the path silently, looking at the water below them and the trees. the air is salty and slightly humid but nothing too intense.

"look up." chris said.

there is a waterfall. it falls seemingly. freya was huge on nature. the way the water fell quickly into the body of water underneath was mesmerizing to the girl.

"this is beautiful."  she said.

after a moment of silence chris spoke up.

"freya, i need to tell you something."

"yeah?" she said, still looking at the waterfall.

chris hesitated for a moment before speaking again.

"what is it?" she asked, sensing that something was wrong.

"i have to leave hawaii tomorrow morning. we have to go back to LA for work," chris said, looking down.

freya's heart sank. she had been in denial about their trip coming to an end, but now it was hitting her full force. "what? you're leaving tomorrow? we still have so much we wanted to do!"

"i know, i wish i could stay longer, but we have to go back," chris said apologetically.

freya felt tears welling up in her eyes. she had grown so close to chris over the past few weeks, and the thought of him leaving was unbearable. "i can't believe this is happening. i don't want you to go."

chris put his arm around her, trying to comfort her. "i don't want to go either, but i have to. we'll still keep in touch, though. and who knows, maybe we'll see each other again soon."

freya nodded, still feeling sad but comforted by chris's words. they sat in silence for a while, watching the waterfall crash against the water below. as the sun disappeared below the horizon, freya realized that their trip might be over, but the memories they had made would last a lifetime.

the car ride back was even more silent than the previous moment they had shared.

chris pulled into the parking lot next to her jeep. freya couldn't push herself to get out of the car. she knew that this was the last time she would see chris for a while, and she didn't want to say goodbye.

"i'm going to miss you so much," freya said, looking at chris with tears in her eyes.

"i'm going to miss you too," chris replied, taking her hand in his.

"i want you to promise me that you'll keep in touch. don't forget about me," freya said, her voice cracking.

"i could never forget about you," chris said, leaning in to kiss her.

the kiss was soft and gentle, but filled with emotion. freya felt like she was melting into chris's arms, not wanting the moment to end.

after a few moments, they pulled away from each other, both feeling a little breathless.

"i should go," freya said, opening the car door.

chris nodded, looking at her with a sad expression. "take care of yourself, okay?"

"i will. you too," she replied, before stepping out of the car.

as she closed the door, she looked back at chris one last time, feeling a sense of longing in her heart. she knew that their time together had come to an end, but she also knew that their connection was something special. she walked towards her car, feeling a mix of emotions - sadness, happiness, and hope.

THE NEXT DAY

freya had just finished packing up the car with the triplets' luggage.

the triplets came out of the house, all looking excited and nervous at the same time. they hugged freya tightly, thanking her for driving them to the airport.

as they got into the car, freya couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. they were her best friends, and she was going to miss them terribly.

during the drive to the airport, they chatted and laughed, but there was an underlying sense of sadness in the air. the girl tried to stay positive, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was going to be alone for who knows how long.

when they arrived at the airport, she helped the triplets with their luggage and walked them to their gate. as they said their goodbyes, freya felt a lump in her throat.

just as the triplets were about to head to their gate, chris appeared out of nowhere. freya's heart skipped a beat as she saw him.

"hey," chris said, looking at freya with a smile.

" hey," freya replied, feeling a mix of emotions.

chris hugged her tightly. "i'm going to miss you," he whispered in her ear.

"i'm going to miss you more," freya said, feeling tears welling up in her eyes.

as they pulled away from each other, they looked into each other's eyes. there was a moment of silence, as they both knew that this was their last chance to be together before chris left.

without saying a word, chris leaned in and kissed freya. the kiss was passionate and intense, filled with all the emotions that they were feeling. freya felt like time had stopped, and that they were the only two people in the world.

as they pulled away from each other, freya felt a sense of longing in her heart. she knew that chris was leaving for what felt like forever, but she also knew that their connection was something special.

"don't forget to take care of yourself"
