Chapter 9 science fair

Note for readers !!
I decided to do more work on my stories. And more work on characters. Plus this will be the longest chapter ever because chapter 10 is the last chapter in this book .

Dennis thoughts pov
You know the way that Rubi  couldn't go to JJ house after school on Friday because she had a science fair in town . I didn't even know my family was attending the science fair to be honest . They were just like oh Dennis ur going with us to the science fair with us on Saturday. My thoughts overwhelmed me a lot when there was something that was really important. Apparently Rubi and her Dad have been doing this for years and lost a lot but they said this year would be different. Don't get me wrong I don't hate Rubi or her Dad It's just that .... I have been grounded for two weeks which means the weekend too . This was my no longer grounded weekend but no I have to go to a stupid science fair with my family .

Dennis pov
I sulk downstairs hoping they have forgotten about me and went to the science fair. Everyone is hurrying to be early for the science fair because it is their first time ever in this town in an event . Because people in Beano town  like to chat and communicate with new people. My mum and dad are practicing their lines for the questions if they get asked which is so embarrassing . May is holding Bea Incase she cries so May can show off how good of a sister she is . And then there me sulking being the downside of the family who doesn't even try to fit in . I wish they just left me here so I do my stuff but I don't want to see the sad look on Rubi's face when I didn't come to support her . I sigh as I put on my jacket . My jacket is a bit oversized because my mom wasn't able to find my size so she got the closest one she could find .  Everyone in the car!! mum shouts . We get in as quickly as we can into the car even though we were 1 hour early . Once we arrived almost everyone was there just not a few people. You guys go hang out with your friends Mum tells me and May . Me and May dashed fast to find our friends . I found my friends beside a brown table . JJ was calming down Rubi because she thought her creation may not work . Everyone it Is time for the fair please all people who are not competing please join your family shouts  an intercom . Me , JJ and Pieface all join our families hoping Rubi will win  .

Time skips 3 hours !!
The contestants in the science were showing their machines or creations to the judges. I was very thankful that Walter wasn't here . He and his parents went to New York for a holiday for about 7 weeks . Ok now that we have seen all of the contestants things we will discuss them says a tall woman with her gorgeous curled hair and red circle earrings to match . Her clothes were really smart looking. Her blue jacket seemed to be bragging to everyone of how cool it looked and so did the skirt that matched with the jacket . She hurried off the platform to discuss with the other judges .  I really hope Rubi wins May whispers to me . Whoever thinks will win She also whispered . I told her Rubi when I didn't really actually care for a start . Fairs are boring except a circus or an amusement park one . I just wished that the fair was done so I could go home  . Attention attention shouted the lady which magically showed up out of nowhere. The winner is .... Rubi !!
The next thing that happened went so fast I think I need glasses . But one thing is for sure I didn't get to go home until 9 pm yep 9 pm . I finally sighed relief when  I went to bed .

The next day was Sunday then Monday . Everyone was telling Rubi how happy they were and Rubi was doing the same it started to annoy me very much. No matter where I go I always get comments about Rubi . During lunch I went outside and had no lunch . I just covered myself because I was sick of the Rubi attention. I was really happy that Rubi won and stuff . But hearing it 24/7 everyday was driving me nuts . Dennis ??? I turned my head up to see who was calling me . Sure enough it was Rubi calling me to probably see I was ok . I quickly get up and run back to school . I avoid Rubi , JJ and Pieface at all costs .  At home I curl up into my bed and fall asleep.

When I walked back to school in the morning . Rubi , JJ and Pieface were no longer to be seen which was odd . I met at least one of them in the hallway every morning. But no I can't find anyone that I know .  In class Rubi , JJ and Pieface were all absent which was very odd . At home time I walked to a store to pick up my favorite comic that was just released a few days ago . When I was waiting in line I heard three people walking into the shop . I didn't really care though I just wanted my comic and to leave . I heard a bag of chocolate falling on the ground beside me . Oh thank yo-   No prob-   Me and Rubi are both looking at each other seeing who will start the conversation. Thank God we found you Dennis says a relieved JJ .
